Love your comments and takes. One incredible detail from THE Zelda trailer at the end, is that it entirely reveals Princess Zelda for the first time ever, in a bombastic way.
Craziest thing is that Switch's highest selling title, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, wasn't even mentioned during this presentation. It got a trailer on RUclips afterwards and showed off the revamped battle mode along with new characters and items. It wasn't even a launch game and released in April or May. What a crazy piece of gaming history this event was.
This video brings back the nostalgia big time. The hype for the Switch and Breath of the Wild was completely unreal; a once in a lifetime gaming experience, and they also drop a completely mind blowing Mario Odyssey trailer. The iconically akward translation is also never not funny. Also nice to see some of the Wii U era Nintendo charm as well that's now all but completely gone in recent years.
Listening to the music in that Zelda trailer again makes me really excited for the Zelda movie JUST to hear the soundtrack. Hopefully they get a composer that does as well as Brian Tyler did on the Mario movie
The first years of the Switch were truly magical times, I remember playing Mario kart at school with a friend using two joy cons, coolest shit back then. I'd bring the Switch with me to school everyday. I remember one time that somehow I left the joycons on the bus (maybe it fell out of my pocket or something? idk) and I was so sad, and I realized I could find out if I'm near the controllers by searching in the controllers menu and I kept checking until the end of the day when I got back on the bus, I noticed that the Switch connected back to the joy cons and then I asked the bus driver if he's seen the controllers and he gave them to me. I was so lucky
Jake with the Hot take with calling Odyssey the GOAT Mario game, but honestly probably valid. I still think Galaxy and it are both as good, but the Capture mechanic made the game even better than it could've been!
Me realizing for the first time that joy cons don't have the ability for using the triggers while playing multiplayer. 😮 They have L and R, but not ZL and ZR. No wonder Nintendo isn't investing in better triggers for Switch 2. Most their games can't even use the triggers because they have to support joycon multiplayer
detached joycons are so much better than the grip imo, i can wrap my hand around the joycons and have each hand wherever while the grip is just a flat thing. So yeah even tho i have pro controller i often use detached
The BotW story trailer rocked but was also really misrepresentative of the game's story. They lost some of my trust with that one, and even more so with TotK when they tried to do the same thing again.
Nah there was nothing misleading about them, both of them make total sense when you actually play the game and neither trailer has any major spoilers that you'd understand without playing the game. They don't show anything in the trailers that isn't in the game. So I really don't get what you mean by this
i think it's fair to say the story as its presented in the trailer is stronger than how its presented in the game. The trailer doesn't tell you that so many of those shots are viewed out of sequence, at a pace directed by the player, whereas the trailer is artfully and purposefully paced. It's a good edit! It's a good trailer! But it's a little misleading. I think bad movies have good trailers all the time, so I don't think the content all being pulled from the final product really makes a difference in terms of what we are talking about.
This is cool to look back to side note this was year of Pokémon ultra moon and Pokémon ultra sun my fav Pokémon games. switch era was alot of fun so many franchise i got back into and some i just stick with it. i had fun with this console ready for next beginning once i get the money, yahoo what and era and yes i hype for control grip even though i haven't used it in awhile.
LOL you thought the region locking stuff announcement was dumb but everyone including all the people you do podcasts with like Andre, Alex people from Nintendo life and games plain went crazy!
My launch title of choice is not BOTW or 12S; it's Super Bomberman R. I bought it on eBay 6 months after launch. i bought ARMS one Black Friday for $35. I can't play it in Handheld Mode. I need motion controls for it and can only fight with grab, not punches, so I always played the hoops game. I bought Splatoon 2 pre-owned for $18 on from GameStop Thanksgiving weekend last year. I considered buying Super Mario Odyssey, but then I watched Brian Hull constantly failing at the Darker Side of the Moon and changed my mind. I got confused by the compass as to where to go next at the beginning of XC2. I tried playing Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition but did not like it. SMT5 took almost as long as MP4B to launch. I'm so glad that MK8D had Smart Steering and Auto Accelerate because I got so frustrating falling off course in Mario Kart Wii.
That Breath of the Wild trailer at the end is insanely good, but also quite deceptive. It promises a grand, epic story which simply doesn't exist. The game is so incredible anyway though that I don't mind too much. Tears of the Kingdom on the other hand? They pull the same trick again, teasing an epic story and then doing the memory crap again. Only difference is with TOTK everything else sucks too so the misleading trailer annoys me way more.
