    I found out that the people who have issues with certain games (including me) is that the firmware that's loaded onto the converter isn't compatible with the games that have issues. The ones that Jammaboards(.)com sells have the updated Firmware and work just fine. Make sure wherever you get these from that they have updated Firmware.

    Yes, I believe the newer version of this product will allow you to do that. The item you see in my video is an older version.

    hey! that looks familiar, oh wait, i just bought that from you earlier today! thanks, it works great and you are right, it couldn't be easier. now i gotta re-think the cabinet i am going to build, since i can do a half jamma half mame cabinete or a jamma mame xbox cabinete or... having the extra inputs gives you a lot of options. i will post a video of whatever i end up building. this will be my 7th mama or custom built cabinet!

    That’s not a bad idea at all. Pc monitors are pretty good in terms of quality I mean the CRt ones. But you need to somewhat adapt them that can’t be easy inside the cabinet

    I hope this works to hook my cherry masters board to an lcd monitor.when you say we need to hook the 5 wires to the pins on the converter, are the pins labeled to show us which wire goes on what pin..? And if I wanted to connect my cherry masters board to my flat screen smart t.v. could I do that is the same fashion and come out to HDMI using a different convertor..? I don't know what's available or how to go about it. Thanks for your time I apologize for this comment coming a yr late, but I did enjoy the video you make it sound pretty simple.

    @MrJimits Well I can't say for sure since I don't know what your current hardware consists of. However, assuming you have a cabinet that was built up from nothing to be a Mame cab. You will need a power supply, jamma harness, cga to VGA adapter (if you have a VGA cab). In my opinion you should keep your Mame as a Mame cab and buy another cab or straight jamma.

    I was wondering if adjusting the clamp st or clamp might fix this issue? Please let me know.

    I have a Neo Geo MVS model MV-1C and the power supply is the model JY-03 and in the label says;
    INPUT: 110VAC/220VAC
    OUTPUT: DC +5V 12A NOR (15A MAX)
    DC -5V 1A (MAX)
    DC +12V 2.5A
    Now I found the manual of the video converter online and it says:
    "The power requirement for the GBS-8220 is +5VDC +/- .5VDC @ 2A. If the power supply cannot put out 2AMP then it may cause problems with the on-board converter CPU. Usually this converter PCB would be connected directly to an arcade game power supply which puts out +5VDC up to 15A current."
    So I understand then that my red wire should go connected to the +5V 15A. Am I right?

      The GBS board does not have any kind of audio ADC, so this is impossible. The only way to do this is with an external device to combine the audio and video.

      @@AndehX I have already tried an audio injector. It does work but with mixed results. I am going to pull off the heat sink from the main encoder chip on the board and find the pinout for possible additional signal input. If that IC has a pinout for analog conversion input I may be able to get stereo sound out of it.

    Bought one, finally arrived, and guess what? For fast scrolling games like shooters, the screen atempts to sync every 3 secs or so, causing a little "skip". It's almost unnoticeable, but gets annoying for a while. The image is beautiful however. For me, it's okay for fighting games... but unfortunately, I feel like throwing my money away. Again.

    And what monitor did you use? Are those not "outputs" not "inputs"... Only input should be the CGA.

    In a two monitor cabinet like my 4 player cyberball game do you need two converters or is there a way to connect both to one?

    • @moomert1
      @moomert1  7 лет назад

      cncmeredith I really can't say for sure. I have never owned a 2 monitor cab. however I would imagine that if only 1 set of wires hook ups for to one monitor, then the pic gets Daisy chained to the other monitor some how, I would think you only need one of these units

    what lcd monitors do you use? I have a arcade cabinet with a 25" crt monitor and was interesting in swaping the crt monitor with an vga lcd monitor but I'm not sure what lcd to get. I want something that will keep the original picture of the crt monitor. Thanks for your time.

      Biggest 4:3 LCD I have ever seen is a 20inch. No the picture will not he the same on am LCD compared to a CRT. You can get a wide screen TV and shove it in there but be prepared to make sure it fits. And just force a 4:3 picture on it. You can get around a 23 inch 4:3 imagine on a wide screen TV that can fit. Good luck. BTW if your CRT works.... I would not bother replacing it.

    • @moomert1

      The convertor does not care if you have jamma or non jamma. Assuming your machine has basic red blue green ground and sync hook up, then this convertor should work.

    Can you run a VGA cable to the "in" from a computer and another VGA cable to the "out" to the monitor, or is there another input that I need to take into consideration for my MAME cabinet?

    • @moomert1
      @moomert1  10 лет назад

      Why would you need a convertor for VGA to VGA? Are you planning to use a computer monitor or a tri sync arcade monitor?

    • @Penfold8
      @Penfold8 10 лет назад

      moomert1 I am trying to go to CGA so that the arcade games I have won't look so pixelated and blocky. (I am using a computer monitor) I thought the signal that was coming out of the computer was CGA when emulating the game and that's why it showed up so blocky. If this is not the case, what can I use so I can smooth out the graphics on the computer monitor?

    • @moomert1
      @moomert1  10 лет назад

      The only thing I could recommend would be to use a tri sync monitor. I had a MAME cabinet and I used a tri sync (vga connection) and the graphics were not blocky.

    I have 12 arcade games in my home collection. Three of them are having monitor issues. Area 51 is one of them. A neotec 25". Gauntlet Legends 27" neotec. And a hydrothunder which runs straight to VGA without any converter needed. 47" Vizio. Just to check if PC based arcades would run straight too VGA TV @correct range. So, what are people doing? Using a remote control to TV to turn it on after cutting on arcade games? Or are you referring to buying an LCD from somewhere particular for arcade games? just seems a little ghetto having to use the remote and hope that it isn't covered to cut the TV on. Just wondering what people are doing. Thanks

      Area 51 is a light gun game... LCD monitor will not work with it at all.
