    I believe this must've reminded her of HMY Britannia.

    Is that name already taken by her yacht? Also why would the Queen name a privately owned ship?

    • @carltrotter7622

      She named prominent privately owned british merchant vessels regularly.

      I was thinking the same. Why would they name the boat brittania if that's the name of the queen's ship?

    • @zacmumblethunder7466
      @zacmumblethunder7466 Год назад +3

      @@ssjess2504 The Royal Yacht was decommissioned some time ago. Although it still exists, it's no longer seagoing. That must make the name "reusable". Although I can't understand _why_ the name was allowed was allowed for a commercial ship.
      And given what's happened with P &O since, it seems far from appropriate for them to have a ship of that name.

    I'm not convinced that button did anything...

      Apparently when she opened the Falkirk wheel and pressed the button to start it for the first time, the button just turned on a light to let the engineer know when to start it 🤷‍♂️

      Its a tradition that a bottle of champagne is smashed over the bow of a ship. It brings good luck for the ship and all who sail.
