Its impossible to overstate what the Bomb Hole provides to this community. This is a conversation about a person and their legacy that we have desperately needed for 20 years. The same ppl who hate on Shaun are the same ppl who begged their parents to buy them a Dragon or a SW Pro Model. I was there, I saw them do it. We ALL wanted to be him. The honesty and the courage to face this narrative speaks to his character, and also to the BOMB HOLE PLATFORM. This podcast is saving Snowboarding.

Loved this episode. Always been a fan of Shaun. Stoked to get more insight into his life and him as a person. Also stoked to hear we share the same fav board graphic and same fav riders style. Thanks Bomb Hole for bringing this episode to us all and thanks Shaun!

Im new to the sport and I never understood why so many snowboarders hated on Shaun. The Talent was so obvious and he was just better than everyone else. Glad he came on the show and gave us the REAL story. I WANT SHAUN WHITE IN NATURAL SELECTION NOW!!!!!!

Oh my god hearing Shaun talk about Mt Hood made my week! I saw Shaun at High Cascade and was definitely running with a crowd that was perpetuating the Shaun doesn’t have a personal style mentality.
I can remember seeing him in Govy and wanting to say hi and maybe even ask for a picture, but the pressure was to just ignore that he was there. I respect the hell out of this conversation, the bomb hole has really made a space for me to reminisce about the whole lifestyle and just rowdiness we all got into. I didn’t expect a podcast to make me reflect on myself and grow as a snowboarder while not even strapped in.
Shaun, you do have steez, an apology from a Govy gal that wishes we just would have asked you to come party at Charlie’s or the Rat just once.

Great one! I appreciate that you guys met this conversation where it could be, as opposed to treating it like a normal ep. And it's really cool to get to listen to Shaun as an authentic dude and from a different perspective than his more common interviews and media appearances.

Shaun is the most important rider in the history of the sport. And he’s a nice guy and class act to boot. Hat tip to the man. He’s stomped everything & done it with class! What a great ambassador for snowboarding . It’s a shame that we are just now starting to fully appreciate how massive his contributions to snowboarding are . It’s great to see him get an opportunity to talk about these things and I love that he chose the Bomb Hole as the place to do it.
Thanks guys for having him on. This is a great episode.
Next steps… Shaun, i would like to see you try Natural Selection !!!
I would love to see you ride at Revelstoke or AK. I’m guessing most of the field at NST grew up watching him ride and would welcome him as a competitor. Even if he was eating s$!t, we’d all still tune in to watch him ride. I’m guessing that he’d figure it out and be competitive. But if he was getting crushed, he’d still bring a ton of new fans and more visibility to NST, which would only help the sport and the riders.

The vulnerability, emotion and passion came out here. Totally unscripted and it felt real. Thanks for sharing. I'm a fan. White Album 2 please. Bring Seone out of retirement and fuck things up. Nice work B-Hole team.

When i started snowboarding in the late 80s early 90s, half pipe runs were a challenge to just navigate the lumps and chanels carved in the wall. Now runs and riders are precise like a figure skater where body position is held to rigid standard

Half way through here and already wishing the interview was longer. I remember encountering Shaun when he was featured in Tony Hawk’s Secret Skatepark Tour video, back in the day of him as a youth. This interview really grew my respect for him and I appreciate his honest candor especially after being under such speculation and critical eye for a lifetime; that’s rough on anyone. He is an ATHLETE. He’s put his stock in the SPORT. For those to deny him credibility based on things like not partying, that’s weighing the hard on an element of the accouterments that tend to come with the LIFESTYLE of a snowboarder- not the sport or art itself. And seriously, consider what it’s like to be in a top position and such a dedicated competitor; it’s isolating. People need to cut each other some slack. Honestly, Shaun is not one of my favorite riders as I prefer a looser style, but I give him mad respect for his positions on what was shared in this video. Right on, Shaun. Well done. Hope people lighten up and show some appreciation and respect where it’s due. Thanks for being willing to share your heart. Hope “retirement” serves you well.
This is one of your best episodes yet, guys! Bravo.

I started snowboarding because I wanted to be like Shaun. Skating in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. He showed me that you could be both!
