Back in the day, you could wrap rubber bands tightly around the back arm piece and they keep them in place. A little funky looking, so pick your rubber band color carefully. 🙂🙂
If the back of the frame is plastic or the nose part is plastic it has a high chance of sliding down from face oils and sweat What I do is uses double sided foam pads on the side of my glasses to prevent it from slipping Alternatively you can sand the nose parts a little bit to remove the smooth layer and it can grip your nose well Finally you can manually screw the screw that's on the hinges overtime these screws come loose and a simple tightening can help
Ehh.. Adjustments aren't always permanent. They're just adjustments. My glasses were fit to me the most perfectly I've ever had a new pair done at my new eye place about this time last year. ( For reference I've been blind asf since about the 5th grade) Now theyre loosened up quite a lot. Shit happens.
Exactly. Name one eye care place that doesn't adjust the glasses you purchase from them. That is an optician's job. Either this Dr doesn't have trained optician's fitting people with eyewear or he just doesn't talk to them. I'm kinda shocked that he would even recommend heatshrink tubing. Who wants to put heatshrink tubing on a pair of designer glasses.
@@ifyoutubedeletes1morevideo880 That's when you go back and get them readjusted. Maybe you're so used to just dealing with it like when you were in the fifth grade, that nobody told you to just go back and get them readjusted. lol. Ehh. Seriously?
Some of us just sweat alot 😀 Sometimes I also I have to stop wearing them for a while because there's sensory overload on my face and having something touch it gets too overwhelming.
I got my new pair of eye glasses yesterday and it didn't slide till 5 hours later all the way to my tips of my nose oh i hate it i;m going to buy that wax thanks for your recommendation, by the way what's the name of the wax?
Right there where your arm connects to your glasses I made mistake and set on them while he was folded up and they kind of bent right there in the screw came out and I'm trying to line them back up but I can't line them back up because of some fact that hold that the screw slides to the glasses on the arm that spring in it won't release enough where I can line the screw up
I have a question I don't know if the doctor can answer this because the videos a couple years old but for the shrink tubes I see that some of them have adhesive inside of them and are they still going to be easy to be removed off without damaging the arms of the glasses and would the adhesive in the shrink tubes be easy to be removed?
Another thing that works great for me is what NOT to do. You really don't want to fold your glasses. I just lay them down unfolded. When you fold your glasses it weakens the firmness
The beeswax works. Cheap Capstick did not. The manufacturers changed the materials they use to make the nose pieces of eyeglasses. I've worn glasses since I started kindergarten 60+ years ago, and I have not had the slippage problem up until a couple years ago. I realize that manufacturers are trying to cut costs where they can, but the nose piece of eyeglasses is not where they should be cutting.
Most pads are made out of PVC, a harder and smooth material. Switching those to silicone pads often gives you a better hold due to the silicone being more sticky. One thing you should keep in mind is that due to silicone being softer sweat and cosmetica get to the padarm quicker to form verdigris.
I am an Egyptian optical technician. I can maintain all glasses and of course install them. I can even use a vision detector. I want to travel for work. Is there anyone who can help me?
I mainly had them adjusted so it wouldn't slide down my nose so bad. I was more worried that they would fall off my face when I have to bend down to pick up something. I mainly noticed them sliding down a little bit if my face gets oily.
I wear readers at work (Dental field). If and when my glasses begin sliding down my nose, I take a very small loop of a thin rubber band. Double it up, sometimes triple it, slide it onto each arm of your glasses and work it along the arm up to and into the hinged area of your glasses up by the frame. (Ortho bands work great). When you open up the arms, the arms don't quite open up as far as the rubber band acts as a stop. Which has some "give" due to it being rubber, so it's not a rigid stop to cause any damage to the glasses. So the result is a slightly tighter fit of the arms toward the sides of your head. For me...problem solved! :) The key is a very small thin rubber band on each side in the hinged area of the arms. Works perfect.

I am so excited to try the wax! I have a pair of sunglasses that are always sliding and drive me crazy so thank you for this tip!
Great! Let us know how it goes. Thanks for subscribing too!
I have the same problem with sunglasses. I'll let you know how it goes. 😎
@@VID801 Works great for sunglasses as well.
@@VID801 the company
Used the suction tubing from the dentist, cut to size but pulled out metal wire. Great fit and comfortable. Can't even feel its there.
Shouldn’t the eye care place adjust it properly so we don’t have to use those products
Glasses are a manufacture product not eyeballs.

@@realhumanbean46 Yes, glasses can be adjusted to fit. You can also get Lasik corrective surgery. I'm sorry. What was your point?
I just started using breath right nasal strips to stop mine from slipping off!

I bet this breaks me out. I’m a new glasses wearer and my nose gets bumps already 🤦🏽♀️
You can get specially made silicone tubes (made for glasses) for the arms (like he showed with the shrink tubing). Works great and no break outs
Great. Thanks. I’ll have to remember that.
Thanks for the comment.
Dont do the heat tubing , i got a pretty bad looking scar that says it
I just got my new glasses and it’ keeps sliding down during class 😭

That's actually a really good point 👍🏻
Thanks for the help greatly appreciated
I let the optometrist put softpads on my carrera frame.it helps a lot against sliding.

Not really, can you give some fitting hacks to hold the specs.
