DICKIES ARENA OPERATIONS TEAM EMBARKS ON A NEVER-DONE-BEFORE CHANGEOVER!

February 22, 2024 - Big kudos to the Dickies Arena Operations team as they have accomplished a never-done-before changeover inside the arena. The crew worked around the clock to ensure several seamless changeovers from the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo to a Panther City Lacrosse game, to the Trilogy Tour concert, to the Harlem Globetrotters game and to Cirque du Soleil: Crystal ice show all within two weeks.
The Operational team began the remarkable changeover journey by clearing the 16,500,000 pounds of dirt with thirty dump-truck loads from the last performance of the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo on February 3rd. After 48 hours, the team shifted into phase one of making ice with around 20,000 gallons of water on the arena floor for Cirque Du Soleil: Crystal. Then after another 48 hours, a protective layer was placed over the ice to install the turf for the Panther City Lacrosse game on February 9th. The team pivoted again immediately after the lacrosse game to set up for the Trilogy concert with Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, and Ricky Martin the next night. As the Trilogy trucks loaded out, the team quickly pivoted again to prepare for The Harlem Globetrotters on Sunday, February 11 at 1pm. Immediately after the game, phase two of the ice installation began. The operations crew perfected the ice by February 13th and was ready to go for rehearsals and the six Cirque Du Soleil: Crystal performances February 15-18th.
