Fun fact, the reason Reaper exist is because the developer felt pro tools, logic, cubase were too restrictive with their their workflows when he was learning new daws lol. So that's most likely the reason why there's nothing like reaper lol.

  • @nicofraisse

Great video. It's somewhat tragic that FL Studio has the most intuitive piano roll (IMO). I get ideas laid out so fast with it. I moved to Logic because it's more optimized for mac (FL studio is buggy on it) and the piano roll is so annoying to use, takes twice as much time to get work done on it. Will give Reaper another try!

That's what's up I was a FL user for many years and couldn't find a piano roll that was better until I customized Reapers piano roll... Now I'm just as fast in Reaper that I am in FL.. I do have a video showing how I set all this up... Thanks for watching...😀🙏🏾

I would love to see REAPER implement the polyphonic pitch bend for MPE synths that Bitwig and Live has.
Also, REAPER's MIDI filter is really powerful for selecting notes, especially when dealing with complex or long arrangements.

People in other DAWs do slide notes using Portamento.
36:00 You didn't show them the inline piano roll in the arrange view. It's arguably more useful than having a fixed waveform in the back of the piano roll.

Great video, sir! Thank you for sharing. I recently asked in a forum which features FL Studio has that Reaper lacks and I was told "New Tone pitch correction". I believe those because accessibility. I`m not using FL studio but from this video I can see several easy built in tools that interesting . And most important , it still feel natural in term of musical notes ( not just random) Yeah Reaper maybe is the king when we`re talking about customizable but that`s need proper setup meanwhile FL studio users can start utilizing those functions after installing the main program . IF Image Line someday decide to porting their piano rolls and those built in features into a " SEQUENCER" plugin , I can see that will be blast right ?
In other spectrum there is Bitwig which takes different takes for spicing our midi notes via their operator and note FXs

Thanks for the comment.... I agree out the box FL Studio is one of the best DAWs to use and they are getting better with every release... And the lifetime updates are great... I want to say they have the most built in vsts instruments as well right out the box... I haven't gotten into BitWig yet I haven't had it the time to try it out but I might have to try it seeing I have it on my computer...lol

Saludos.-

you don't need to mark the scale as reaper literally has had scale lock which FL lacked for years. You can add other scales in Reaper and it supports ghost notes as well.
