    Might include the suggestion to use belly leather to avoid all the notching. Belly leather forms well and holds it shape as good as any other leather.

    What dye are you using to achieve that color? I'm using fiebings dark Brown. Which is nice but not the color I'm looking for.

    How long did you leave it in the jig to dry? Like the video, wished there were commentary to explain more details

    Since this video was done 5 years ago you didn't show what you soaked the leather in to get it soft

      Hi Dale it's was just water and you soak until no more bubbles are coming out of the leather about 5 mins, hope this helps, atb John.

      How long do you leave the leather piece in the mold before removing? Thanks for the video.

      I leave it for about 2-3 hours then take the leather from the mould It will dry a lot quicker out of the mould but be careful when you take it out.

      Thanks for the reply. Do you just use water? There's an Instructables tutorial where the guy is using alcohol and water.

      Just plain water nothing else.

      Yes I make all my own moulds there not the best in the world but they work never been very good at woodwork, atb John
