World Bonsai Day at the USA National Arboretum

- The World Bonsai Day (May 12th) was celebrated in the USA National Bonsai and Penjing Museum (Washington DC). The National Bonsai Foundation celebrated World Bonsai Day on May 11-12 at the National Bonsai and Penjing Museum with the Potomac Bonsai Association Festival and show the works of art by Nick Lenz while they are in America. The potomac Bonsai Society had their exhibition at the time, and a number of well known bonsai trees (Penelope by Nick Lenz, a Western Hemlock by Nick Lenz, a Douglas Fir By Bjorn Bjorholm and a western blue Spruce by Karen Harkaway) were on special display.
During the exhibition Sergio Cuan (M5 Bonsai Works) gave demonstartions, and discussed the trees on display. All in all a great weekend in the US Arboretum and time well spent. Join me in the weekend Bonsai show.

Hi Jelle, You actually passed us on Friday. You were walking down the stairs to the exhibit area from the vendor area and we were walking up. After you walked by, I said to my wife, "That looked like Jelle." You had already turned the corner by the time I looked back and I just figured you wouldn't be here from Europe. Sorry I didn't chase you down to say "Hi!"

WOW!!! Some day I will get to these shows. Thanks for taking us along! I recognized a few trees in there. Apparently alien life is taking them over. I wonder what treatment you use to remove aliens from your tree? Hahaha!
