AZ is a rare breed. A humble lyrical monster that doesn’t desire the spotlight and very content with the blessings God gave him regardless of people’s expectations of him. 💯 he doesn’t go out of his way to prove anything to anyone because he would rather let the work speak for itself 🫡🫡🫡

Did the camera just run out of memory or battery? Why did the video end so abruptly? Where TF is the rest of the interview?
That being said, AZ is one of my favorites from when I was coming up. "City of Gods" gave me so much inspiration to go out and get money, still do. His track "Never Change" gave me crazy consolation since I was introverted, and had to move and change schools a lot as a kid and wasn't good at keeping in touch... Mad other tracks that were deadass the soundtrack to my life... Or should I say his music raised me! I'm a little disappointed that this interview was cut short especially since I'm a fan of the show but hell, I'm glad we got something tho!

I love AZ. This was a brutal interview though, thanks to the interviewers. It's painful as longtime fan to watch these guys have no good questions for him... you expect him to just sit there and give his life story without asking any specific questions, when you know that isn't his character? Tell me what made you who you are.... really? As someone that's listened to him for years I could have asked 1000 questions based off of nuggets he's dropped in his songs throughout the years. You guys need to work on your interview skills and research instead of hoping the artist will just divulge without it. Disappointing.

Love AZ but he forgets you become a rapper for 3 reasons 1. to make mainstream bangers, 2. to challenge the establishment, 3. To show off you lyrical prowess challenging anyone who want some. He no longer need to prove lyrical prowess since he is acknowledged. He not into making mainstream commercial bangers. And finally he not looking to offend so you can cross off going against the establishment.

This was a great interview. But I see why this was so short compared to others. AZ seem like a very guarded individual. What seems like the issue is the cast is coming at AZ as super fans. I don't think AZ is use to that. There seems like there is alot of stuff that AZ doesn't like to or want to talk about. Some shit went down with the Firm and the Music business that makes me think AZ like yo fuck all this creativity shit where the money at.

AZ is throwing them off because he got into the game by being at the right place at the right time. He explained he couldn't have thought of his life unfolding the way that it has. His story is continuing to unfold. And he's not going to embellish his story for a few laughs. He's not Fat Joe and it's cool. lol I can relate because sometimes people want more and there isn't more...I answered your question. Take it or leave it. 😁 But like Mecca stated, AZ embodies what these other rappers claim to be. He's lowkey, still getting the money and doesn't crave the attention. Yo! Why did the interview just stop!?!? Is there a part 2 coming?
I'm glad you guys got AZ on, however I think you took too long to switch up your interview style and ask better questions. No one asked anything about Do or Die II, Truth Be Told, or the number of singles he was putting out in the years before DOD2. I would also liked to hear his thoughts on the project he did with Ghostface, 36 Seasons, and if he thinks Hip-Hop should do more projects like that (true full fledged story/audio movies). What are the sounds he's listening to when he's not making music. What is the best advice he's gotten from an older MC? How did it happen the Rakim narrated the short documentary about AZa few years ago?
What are his thoughts on Steve Stout (we know Steve's opinion on AZ from Drink Champs). There's a lot of places this interview could've gone. Maybe it all happened after this video cut off.... I don't know, but it doesn't seem you guys were heading in any of those directions. 🤷🏽‍♂️

AZ is dope and it was great to see him interviewing , that said you all wasted way too much time trying to see who he is why, how etc.... he KEPT telling you he dont fuck with the attention, industry dudes and social media. Should have just stuck to the process in the making of the albums, songs and maybe who he did connect with OTHER THAN NAS. He aint want to get personal could have used more music history. life story BS , he kept saying he wasnt with that. this kind of had the same off the rails vibe as the Canibus interview. respectful criticism, still mad props on having MFing AZ in the house!! props

Az is so simple, straight, humble, introvert to the point he doesn’t get people want to hear the intricacies of how he got to where he is, at his current state and so forth. Like the man says he doesnt do interviews so its new for him to navigate these questions. He is actually a true definition of a og. Man i really value this interview as he is beyond rare. Even though is was truly unexpected but it’s appreciated

What they are saying is it’s hard to believe an artist could be that dope and not have a crazy story or process to go with it…I don’t think AZ realizes just how dope he is and how effortless it seems like his career was…it’s almost like he woke up at 19 and said “I think I’m going to rap” and then put out some of the greatest joints in hip hop history 😂

AZ has a lot in common with Jokic. Dude is a great basketball player but his passion is his horses. AZ has never been in it for fame just the money and there's nothing wrong with that. As a fan I used to be selfish and wanted more and he actually delivered in his own way. Legends like AZ owe us nothing. Respect to Brooklyn for giving us AZ, Jayz, Biggie, ODB, Talib Kweli, and Queens, my favorite rap Burrough in New York. From Nas, Cormega, Mobb Deep, 50, to LL and The Lost Boys.

I remember seeing AZ in passing in the early 90s. I was leaving a car alarm place on Jamaica Avenue in my Gold BMW with the Gold Windshield Wipers. I was a teenage Hustler back then & I had a giant Gold bracelet & Gold watch. AZ was in a Lexus. He was looking at me like "Who the hell is this little kid" by his facial expression, back then I looked a few years younger than my age. While I'm looking like, "Oh sh!t that's AZ, one of my favorite Artist". 😂 The funny thing is, we're both from East NY, but that's the only time I remember seeing him. Salute to him though. Nas & AZ is also my favorite 2 man Collaboration of ALL TIME. 💪🏾

He trusts us to just feel the music and he doesn't have to get us to buy it. He knows if he keeps it real... real G's gonna feel it and that's all he needs. When people meet him on some... "yo! You the illest jo. You my favorite rapper on the low." He be like... "aite" and just keep pushing. He prolly don't even want to hear that ish.
