    Edit:
at 0:32 I meant to say "end of March 2023"
at 2:26, in the updated app (v7.6.0), the sequence is now: "Tickets" - "Buy ticket to app or SL card" - "Load your green SL card"
at 2:46, single ticket is now available for the green card!

I dont know how I got this recommended to me, but its a great guide. (after writing i noticed im subscribed, propably from the old SL video :D)
I work in the tunnelbana, in those booths that are on every station. Would just want to add a few helpful things. There is a lot of problems with the new readers for the app tickets and green card, to avoid frustration, if your card dont work in one reader, just move directly to the next one, it usually works directly.
Some readers have trouble reading all cards/phones for some reason. I see often that people try to stay at one for a long time and ends up getting frustrated and almost missing their train. If for some reason none of the readers work, you can also activate your ticket at the window of the booth, this is also where you have to place your phone if you have bought a ticket for multiple people, since the gates are for one person passage.
Also if you want to see what is in your green card, you can either talk to the people working at the station or use your SL app, since the old maschines are only for the access card and will show your green card as "invalid card" (not sure if you mentioned this)
If anyone else has any questions about the tickets, feel free to ask, I can try to answer.

    Hej!
Thank you for your SL card video so much, it is very useful content for a traveler who wants to use public transportation in Stockholm.
It is funny that I go to Stockholm with information from your previous video before I noticed that SL is already upgraded their card system. LOL
Firstly I arrived in Stockholm at 3/09/2022 then I have to buy SL access card (according to your video info of course) but the officer at the station told me to buy SL card at Pressbyrån instead, then I got a green SL card which makes me confused that why I did not get SL-Access card instead. Then I tried to tap that card in the blue zone at the station gate but I did not work until I saw that the other person tap a card in the green zone (which makes me more confused). After that I always have to remember to tap in green zone with QR code side instead of blue zone.
I really love SL card, I can ride T-metro, Commuter train, Light Rail, Ferry and Bus for unlimited time and go everywhere I want in just one card.
I still recommend to watch the previous video especially about the mobile application for the SL system.
(But personally, I can not use an official SL app because the app cannot find the route to travel, it always says error to find the route, I don't know why. I have to use another app in the video and Google Maps instead.)
Thank you for you again to make useful video for transportation in Stockholm, Much Appreciated.

Thanks for these videos! I just learned how to use the Metro these past two days. I love how easy it is to just use contactless payment with my phone. FYI, the mobile app doesn’t work for visitors who have bank/credit cards from a place like the US. It didn’t work for me and one of the App Store reviews pointed this out. I’m really happy just tapping my phone though! I confirmed that however you pay is how you need to validate your ticket. That is, if you use a card stored on your phone, that’s different than the actual card vs the phone vs a watch. Your advice to make sure you have a good battery charge is spot on. I also experienced “asking for help” and finding that people are really nice here!

Thanks for your explanations. As a tourist staying one week on Storholmen I will use the ferry very often in addition to metro and tram. So I finally decide to buy a 7 day card on the SL App. 37€ is very cheap indeed for a week travel card. Here in France we don’t get used to using our credit card for a single ticket, one line more for every ticket in your statement of account! It was very useful to get a synopsis before my plane takes off!

You mentioned that you can purchase A single adult fare ticket by tapping the dedit card. I tried that yesterday when the SL app wouldn't let my payment through. The issue I found was that when I purchased a 39Kr ticket by tapping it on the Bus, it didn't register with the 75 minute timeslot. I had to switch to a train 15 minutes later and 39kr were again deducted from my dedit card when I tapped on the train station, even though the previous ticket had a validity window still open.
That's why I'd prefer not to use the debit/credit card option going forward.

Assuming I arrive at the Masthamnen cruise terminal and I want to continue (after a short walk) immediately with ferry 80 from Saltsjöqvarn to Nybrokajen. Since I learned that foreign credit and debit cards don't work with the hsl app, there is no subway station, Pressbyran or 7 Eleven nearby and that there doesn't seem to be a ticket post at the pier to buy a single ticket via credit card I'm running out of options. What is your opinion? Thanks a lot.
Ah - almost forgotten, sometimes it is said that upon entering the ferry you only need to show a valid ticket. How does it work when the ticket is stored on a credit card or an SL card?!

Thanks a lot, I have been in Sweden for the last 7 months, but yet I didn't know how to use the bus or train, recently my friend took me with her and told me it will be free for me if I carry a baby with me in barnvägen. I have one question, if I'm traveling almost daily without child, and I have no green card and I'm paying directly from bank card, so will the cost be same with the 24hr or 75hr trips by Sl card?

    • @inStockholm
      @inStockholm  Год назад +1

If you travel daily (let's say weekdays), it's 2 trips per day, 5 days out of 7. The price you pay then for an average month (30 days) is 39kr*30*2*5/7=1671kr, compared to the 30 day period ticket of 970kr. So as mentioned in the video, period ticket is the best deal if you do more than 2 trips 2-3 times a week. 24 or 72 hour tickets are good if you make 3-4 trips daily for just a few days.
      Hope this helps!
