1) Small farmer cannot afford a tractor, so he pays 2000 to 3000 rs per acre, per season. 2) cannot afford a combine harvester so he pays 1000 to 2000/acre/season. 3) pesticides and fertilizers cost 4000. 4) tolls all the time on farm and earns 1000 to 40000 per season per acre. 5) transportation from farm to home 500 to 1000 and from home to market another 1000 to 2500. 6) hard work for 4 months and take home is 0 to max 31500 per acre and only if land belongs to him if leased max can only get 23000. 7) krishi loan is low interest for farmers but if crop gets destroyed by any reason he is in debt for years. 8) and if cannot repay bank loans he is done for because he cannot get another loan from any reputable source and has to turn to loan sharks and trust me there are plenty in rural india who preys on peoples misfortune. 9) farming is somewhat profitable if farmer has at least 20 acre of land else he is at the mercy of nature and government.

If farmers need water from canal for example - LBP Lower Bhavani Sagar Project , there is a guy (Rusker) who gets government salary even if there is no water. That guy will ask 1000Rs per person . Only if he gets the amount will he open the gateway properly, otherwise he will open so that very little water gets in and no one can irritate the land properly. I think this is the best government job in whole INDIA because he gets salary even when there is no work.
