- Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz made good on his threats and filed a resolution Monday night to oust House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. The move came after McCarthy relied on Democrats to pass a stopgap funding bill. CBS News congressional correspondent Scott MacFarlane has the latest.

Shocked and pleasantly surprised the Gaetz pulled this off. Imagine being in a political office and being removed for not keeping to your agreements. Hopefully another RINO will not get the vacancy, but rather someone with integrity. That alone will make the search for a new speaker tricky, but there are a few. Margorie Taylor Green comes to mind.
