Glad to see you doing a video on this one. I got mine in 2019 and have used it for saddle stitched, Coptic stitched, and Japanese stab stitched books. I find it incredibly helpful. One tip I have found useful is to pick which holes you want to use, and mark them with a sharpie on the guide. The marker can be cleaned off with hand sanitizer after use. (A tiny amount on a q-tip will work.)
The thread that comes with it is kind of crappy, but you can purchase waxed linen thread or get some beeswax from a sewing store and wax your own.

Great vlog John. I have done the simple binding without any tool, but nowadays my hands wouldn’t be able to keep it all in one place , so this seems a solution to my problem. 😃 TFS 🥰

I bought this on a whim; and learned some Japanese binding patterns. Fun! But I did get some blisters LOL This is a great introductory video; I'm so glad I subscribed to your channel.

PS: I found that, if you want to use colored string to do the binding, it helps to pull the length of string along a bit of beeswax prior to starting. You end up with wax-coated colored string; much easier to work with!
