Yay! We missed you! I just ordered the entire “Outlander” series by Diana Gabaldon. I started the show a few weeks ago and became OBSESSED! When I found out it was based on a book series, I just KNEW that I had to have the books. For those who aren’t familiar with the series, it’s about an British army nurse named Claire Randall in the 1940’s, (just after World War ll), who accidentally travels back in time through stones to 1743, Scotland. There, she gets into quite a bit of trouble and has to marry a man named Jamie Fraser in order to be kept safe. The story follows their gradual, passion-filled romance, as well as showing many pieces of world history during that time. It’s magical realism, romance, historical fiction, and culture all wrapped into one. It’s such an addictive, serendipitous journey! I am so happy I ran across this series as I’ve been in quite a reading slump for a good six months. No books have sparked that reading fire in me like these have in such a long time. I’m so ecstatic!

I haven't finished you video yet but I just subscribed to your channel! I love how articulate you are and although are literary tastes don't seem to match perfectly, you already convinced me about several books you talked about.
I agree 100% about your position on humans on the planet. It always makes me uncomfortable when some people argue that humans are some kind of "parasites" on earth, or somehow against nature. I think that we are part of our environment, no less and no more than other beings. It doesn't mean that we don't make mistakes or shouldn't strive to preserve the planet or eliminate cruelty towards other conscious beings.
But I believe we should do it mainly because it is an imperative if we want to survive as a species (which includes all humans independently of origin or race), and not as some kind of "human against nature" ideology.
I'm sorry for the long post, English is my second language and sometimes it's difficult to express myself adequately. I hope it made sense. Thank you for your video!

Hello! Another book tuber mentioned your channel :) Octavia Butler! I am not sure if you are a watcher of booktube as well as a poster/maker/content created (?), but there is an Octavia Butler Slow Read going on with ONYX Pages and MusicalTati (and potentially more hosts, I am not sure)...and they are going through all of her books, I won't post any links because I am sure the youtube robots will delete it, lol. I love The Broken Earth Trilogy! It was so good. I need more of Jemisin's works, and Butler's too to be honest. I have only read Kindred and was on the fence about it, lol. The emotional hurt and the story have stayed with me, but I didn't love her writing :/ I am still gonna read all her books though because she is the QUEEN! And she is just brilliant.

Hello there Amerii, awesome your book club is here! I'm also in thought of your thru the stars song. Lovely it is!! It brings to mind in holding your hand and traveling thru the stars with you this being while listening. We both being in agreement to do so, travel thru the stars. Here then from my spiritual perspective I bring forward the words " this brings us right into the heart of the debate do me as a Christian have the power and authority from the Lord to directly engage with these 2nd heaven demons or should I just deal with the earth bound demons who are directly attacking people down on the earth? I use people in association to how you used the word people in your song. Again lovely song and awesome book club!! Terrill TC!
