Wow! I'm discovering this instrument as I'm looking for a harp. You took me on a beautiful deep journey here, thank you so much for offering your gift. Where would you recommend getting a Kantele from?
Thank you very much for your kind words. There are a couple of kantele makers in Finland that I can recommend (and have personal experience with): - Lovikka kanteles ( lovikka.com/en ). Good quality kanteles. - J. Kurki ( www.kurkikantele.com ). A good amount of options, and specialty kanteles. - Koistinen ( www.koistinenkantele.com ). Their instruments are of excellent quality, but pricey. Most of these sites don't have much in their English versions. You should use the Finnish language sites and translate them with Google translate, or similar, to see their products, order, etc. (just paste the site url to google translate, and it will translate the whole site, that you can navigate as normal). There's also www.kantele.com in USA. I don't have personal experience with their instruments, but they're are a good option to try if you are in the Americas.
Please, could you send the seller info to me too? he he... Looking for my kantele now.. and this is perfect (and amplified). Lovely set and performing. Greetings!

Da Woid What a strange thing to say. Isn't this video proof music can be like this still ? Music to me doesn't feel like pop music from the charts, because I don't put on the radio or listen to mainstream charts.
Da Woid I guess I get what you mean. I don't miss ancient times at all though(how could I miss something I never experienced, eh?). Disease was rife, murder rates were ridiculously high, ignorance reigned, slavery, forest banditry was an actual daily hazard, extreme minority of people could even read etc., you could be branded a witch just for having certain wild plants grow in your yard. Most people ate the slop they could scrounge up as opposed to having choices of food, hunting in the king's forest could be punished by beheading etc. That doesn't sound like something I'd miss.
Finnish people have a genetic gift for music i swear, especially this sort of ethereal or epic sound
Thank you very much. I do try my best trying to capture the ethereal feel.
Yup...best metal bands on the planet too.

Many yrs ago, I used to date a guy who father was a carpenter & who also crafted/played dulcimers. He made the small ones & the larger hammer ones, but those probably sound too folky for this type of music, lol.
Amazing! And sick looking kantele. did you make it? Buy it? If so do you sell it or where did you find it!?
tennysonn Thank you, good sir. I did indeed make the kantele myself. It's pretty hard finding Kanteles with these exact specification that I need, so I had to build it myself.
Wow! I'm discovering this instrument as I'm looking for a harp. You took me on a beautiful deep journey here, thank you so much for offering your gift.
Where would you recommend getting a Kantele from?
Thank you very much for your kind words. There are a couple of kantele makers in Finland that I can recommend (and have personal experience with):
- Lovikka kanteles ( lovikka.com/en ).
@@TuomiOrava Oh thank you so much for the time you took to give me all these references. Will definitely keep your recommendations in mind.
Please, could you send the seller info to me too? he he... Looking for my kantele now.. and this is perfect (and amplified). Lovely set and performing. Greetings!
Thank you very much.
Unfortunately, I'm a bit too busy at the moment to build new kanteles. When I'm able to build them, the prices start at 650 for an acoustic 10 stringed one, at 1000 Euros for an acoustic 15 stringed one. Adding a microphone/pickup adds 100-300 Euros depending on the type of mic/pickup.
I miss the ancient times so much. The times when live felt like this music, now it feels like pop music from the charts...
Da Woid What a strange thing to say. Isn't this video proof music can be like this still ?
Music to me doesn't feel like pop music from the charts, because I don't put on the radio or listen to mainstream charts.
Well, I think I meant life in generel, all aspects of life, not only music.
Da Woid
I guess I get what you mean.
Only their bests
on my favourites.....
