Ok. I tried getting more creative on this one. Would love some feedback. 🙃
This is genius!!! Thank you!!! I have a bunch of old videos with a too long intro that I repeated on every one for a while. It’s so annoying to watch. Getting right to the point is great advice!
Loved this. Impressed with the b roll you shot plus the stuff you sourced from that other platform. Really like seeing how you trimmed the video in RUclips studio. Very crisp and flowy 😊😊
I loved it, so thankful for your content, I’m about to get back to posting on my channel @yourconsciouslife and your videos have not only been super helpful but have also motivated me to get back to it. My niche is, spirituality, which is different from educational content but I think I can apply all of your teachings to improve my channel. If you have any advice for this type of content, I’m all ears 😂 Thanks again!
I am loving all the tips and tricks, now one of my fave channels x
Your tips are on point. I mean, why didn’t I think of that? I’m going to have to begin thinking like someone who watches RUclips instead of someone who’s overthinking my videos to put on RUclips. You’re brilliant, as always, and I appreciate you!💚
Such great tips. I'm not the best with editing but I'm slowly learning! I didn't know you could edit videos on the platform. Thanks for sharing.
WTF will definitely use that concept in my future videos. ❤
Hopefully it’s easy to remember 🤣
Always glad to see your uploads and advice! Thank you for your content
Thank YOU!
WTF. Thanks for the tips. I'm going to try that 👍
🤣 you’re welcome!
Thanks, Virginia! We always appreciate straightforward, useful advice! ❤
You’re welcome!
Thank you for helping us out ... Because am a growing RUclipsr so I need support yah
You’re welcome!
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr That video really helped me know more and what to do right
Awesome..Great video..I tell my business partner that if your intro is too long before you get started..They want watch it.. Again great video
Thank you!
Thanks Virginia! I was really looking forward to seeing my video in there, but it wasn’t Nonetheless,I’m still very happy and thankful for the tips you’ve shared in this video .
I’ve got a lot videos to make. I go back to comments under my community posts for future videos ❤
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr okay, good to know. Looking forward to them
Thank you! So much smoother💪😎
You have an amazing channel and personality!
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr right back atcha! I’ve been binging your stuff. Great energy!
Brilliant! You explained it so clearly. I'm going to work on these things. Onward!💪😂❤️
Great information! I'm thinking Liz was using the photos to cover up her edits, which is a good thing, but you are correct...it's jarring the way she did. Your fix was perfect
I’m enjoying your channel. Good commonsense advice. I’ve had a RUclips for nearly two years, 12k subscribers, good steady progress. Your channel has helped me focus on areas that had become blind spots. Thank you.
I asked, you delivered, thank you!
Great video. I'm very familiar with the hockey stick retention graph in my analytics. I'll try these....thanks!
Keep me posted!
I love that you gave actual examples and zeroed in on the intro, so much value!!! Thank you Virginia❤️🙏🏽🥰
Thank you! This feedback really helpful!
I'm not usually one to comment, but that was such a great video. The number of examples you squeezed in to a 6 and 1/2 minute video was crazy. Thank you!
That means so much!!! Thank you!! Appreciate your feedback!
Is it not however the case that people have to watch your video in order to think I'm not going to watch this vide (cause it rambling)?
So how come one video can get a few hundred views and that other one gets 36,000 views?
Yip. She's got a great accent that girl. Loved it. Super stuff Virginia.
Yes! She's in Mississippi.
This dance is epic and so fun to watch. Please watch, like, share, comment and subscribe 🙏🔔✅
Very useful tips with examples......makes this a video worth watching twice. Have a super weekend everyone.
I love the idea of editing other videos to demonstrate your point. I always enjoy watching your videos- thank you!
Thank you! That’s good to know it was helpful!
Very useful! Thanks. I think of using this intro structure to my podcast as well
Yes! I use the same format on my podcasts too!
Wow you’re great my friend. Your videos are alway on time thank you for sharing your gift my friend. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Awww thank you! Glad you found it helpful!
This was brilliant, Virginia. Thank you for helping us!
So glad you liked it!!
Hey Virginia! I want to sincerely thank you for inspiring me to JUST START!!!! That 9 day marathon you did, that's how I found you. I posted my first video 2 weeks ago. Fascinating how the first video only has 400 views, second video from 10 days ago has 10k views and the one I posted a couple days ago already has 4K!!!! I'm having so much fun with it!! THANK YOU!!!
That is amazing!!!! Yay! Love hearing you’re having fun!
You are doing amazing 🎉 keep it up 👏🏽 Imtoday is day 17 for me and I’m no where near your numbers, you are onto something!!! Thank you 😊
Excellent and useful video! Love the dinner invite before eating analogy clip👍
I was testing characters. Wasn’t sure if it was too over the top 😂 thank you!
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr No, felt naturally placed.
Virginia, I’d like more information regarding something you vaguely mentioned during your challenge that I think is important: Why should we avoid promoting our video in other platforms right after uploading it?
I usually promote mine on Facebook but I keep thinking about your comment and wonder why you reached that conclusion…
By the way, I have been applying your tips and advices and recently one of my videos got almost 30K views (for the first time ever and mostly thanks to implementing your advice). Thanks and God bless you!
Hi there! That’s great to hear! If you don’t give the algorithm time to find your audience on its own a wave of people from another platform may prevent it from finding your audience on RUclips. Also if you promote to people who aren’t your ideal people they won’t watch the whole thing. It’s best to wait a few days and then promote it
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr A few days? I did an experiment and I hardly got any views on several videos after a couple of hours so I then shared them on Facebook and the views picked up, one of these videos is the one that almost got 30K views. Can you tell us more about your own experience?
Way to go 🎉 that’s amazing!! 😊
Nice ❤
I like your intro editing hacks 🎉
Thank you!
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr 👌
You are brilliant Virginia! Thank you for showing us poor examples and then immediately how to make them better. Russ
You're welcome. I know you wanted some retention tips. I have more coming 😊
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr Woo hoo! This will be a tremendous help. Also your b-rolll and skit helped me understand your point about dinner well. Russ
Great video, just one thing am I too slow at hitting the suggested video or is it not on screen long enough, I keep having to go back 😂
Omgoodness!!! I KNEW you were a genius at this stuff!! Great job wowww
Many thanks for your very informative video 👍. I don't even give the viewers an intro! Will have to rectify that for a start. I've got six main videos (first few were rather shaky, but I've since worked out that turning on the stabilisation does wonders duh ) plus a few shorts. I'm assuming that viewers get bored, and that's why some don't watch the video to the end. Difficult to know what to do for the best, as the whole point of my videos is to show my journeys out and about on my mobility scooter. Are they running too fast, do I cut out the travel to/from my destination, do I include info about the area, do I add AI voiceover because I've no voice, etc., etc., are all questions that I write down to ponder over. My little grey cells are working overtime thinking about which is the best way forward! I guess that once I and many other creators find the 'magic' solution, then creating YT videos will become easier - well, I most certainly hope it does 😂
WHERE in Alabama? I'm in Destin, Fl. right next door. In fact, my morning radio show has tons of Listeners in Alabama. Roll Tide!
Birmingham but I live near St Louis now. I’m supposed to fly to Destin Monday! Afraid it will get canceled. How’s the aftermath there?
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr Absolutely ZERO . Sunshine 85 degrees. Ever been before? Not to be a weirdo but it would awesome to meet you! I'm a 61 yr old old guy so I'm harmless. And a public figure so if there were ANYTHING sketchy I'd be on the TV news.
Hi Virginia! ❤ Thanks for another great video! I’m going to go back and do this to some of my lower view videos! Thanks for the tip! Hope you’re well! ❤❤❤
Im a new channel ❤❤ thanks!! My edits are kinda complicated
I don’t have any feedback but I just wanted to say I appreciate this and your series you have been doing! Thank you.
I had no idea you could clip your video after posting. I’m going to check this out for sure. Thanks for continuing this helpful information Virginia.
Thank you always actionable informative information!! Thank you, looking forward to your next video 😊
I constantly bing your channel. I just worked on a video that I'm about to upload and I'm taking your advice to not jump from one frame (B-roll) to the next too often. Great advice. Keep it coming
Hi Virginia
Im a subscriber from across the pond in the UK.
I'm 60 and started to upload to RUclips about 18 months ago. My RUclips channel is about travel, where I vlog and review places that I have been to, on my own, with my wife and with my family.
I'm pleased overall with some of my viewing numbers and have had some really lovely comments, but I'm reaching out as I'm struggling to reach that 1000 subscriber target that I set myself. I'm not particularly interested in monetisation as my channel, as well as trying to inspire and help others, is a documented travel record for me as a legacy for my family.
I had a set back about 3 months ago after returning from the States, as I had a bad accident at home and spent a month in hospital but I am ready to go again 😊
Any advice or tips or feedback you can give would be greatly appreciated
Really enjoying your work. Thank you
Thanks Virginia. This is so helpful. 😊
I'm so glad!
Every time I watch your video, I’m learning each and every day I just create my RUclips channel and I’m just here to get some knowledge and everything. Thank you.
Awesome and mind opening review👍👌 thanks Virginia.hugs from UK 🇬🇧
Thanks so much that was great!.. any chance you could talk about end end screen? I cannot get mine to line up?
What do you mean by “line up?”
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr when it comes to the end of my video .. then the end screen .. either my subscription and next video come up first .. or the end screen with nothing on .. then I try to line them up so as everything shows together.. but I can’t seem to coordinate it.. does that make sense? If not look at the end of my last video. Thank you.
These are really good tips! I'm going to use them even though I'm technically a faceless youtuber. Would you consider making this exact same video but geared towards faceless youtubers? Would love to be your guinea pig! 😀
I love this! Patty Bee is one of my favorite channels - thank you for featuring her ❤
This is so helpful and I’m going to implement into a video that I’m editing right now. 👍
Fantastic,
Well done and that model you got to play the neighbor coming over had great facial expressions.
( Have a super weekend everyone! )
Great content! You really know what you are doing!
Great video yet again! Thanks for this! We are learning a ton!
Thank you for the tips Virginia, we are only a month in and want to make sure we are doing as much things correctly from the start instead of a year from now!
Gotta go make an intro video now! 🏃💨
Watching from China. ✌️
Wow!
Question when you liveed in Alabama, where are you in television down here? I’m only asking that because my dad actually worked in television in Alabama for over 54 years before he retired
I interned in Birmingham at 33/40 and Fox 6. But I moved away for my first tv job and never returned. I visit often though.
For a sec there I thought...is she going to actually say it! Great tips, thanks for sharing
Thanks Virginia 😍
You’re welcome!
really helpful tips
Oh good! Thank you!
So helpful! I’d love for you to do this to my most recent vid!!!
Thank you for your helpful videos. I'm a new subscriber and just saw you were going to re-edit some of your followers videos but then I couldn't find your post again. So I am giving you a link here to a video I would love your insight on (as I'm not a very techy person) if you are still re-editing videos. Thanks for your energy and inspiration.

Thank you for the audit!❤❤❤
You're so welcome! You have great energy and on camera delivery ❤
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr Thanks so much!
Thank you for your advice 😊❤
This video was so good. I enjoy your videos because they aren't the same things you hear over and over on other channels. I had my channel take off a couple months ago for a second and now I feel like I'm back in youtube jail. I think I went backwards instead of progressing because I started over thinking everything. I feel like there's something I'm missing with my channel, but I can't figure out what it is. Maybe I'm just boring. 😂
Hey! You're not boring. In your most viewed videos you are starting off telling people what you are discussing and what you want to help people with. Those are stronger intros than your recent videos. In your second highest viewed video, you have a compelling "coming up" graphic that grabs attention and then you get right to what you want to talk about when you walk in with the plant. I would test leaving out the yellow graphic with your profile picture on your videos and use the coming up text with clips of the video in your intro. Study what you did in the most viewed videos to get clues for the future one. 😊
Thank you! This is super helpful! I am going to cut a few seconds off the beginnings of a series I just posted. Your videos and channel are awesome🙏💖
Yay! Glad you can use the hacks! Thank you!
OMG did I hear you correctly? Are you from Alabama? So am I , that's awesome. Enjoying your channel lot's of great tips. Hoping to implement some of these strategies to get my channel going. I just started the channel in June so I know I probably need to be more patient as well. There are a lot of people in the self-improvement niche. 😊
Hey yes! Born and raised! Roll Tide! The key is to double down on your stories and experiences to stand out ❤️
Fabulous! Great tips!!
❤️❤️❤️
😊
Excellent. Snappy info, exactly what you are advocating. I didn't know you could edit videos once they were posted. More on that please.
Glad to help!
@3:15 SO GLAD to see someone FINALLY point out the problems with asking for like/subscribes, etc. immediately. It's like being introduced to someone for the very first time "Hey, I'm Bob" and before you know anything else about Bob, he says, "Will you lend me some money?" or "Would you do me a HUGE favor". Such a huge turn-off. Same thing with Websites that ask you for your email before you've even found the thing you were looking for on their site. MANNERS. Remember your manners. Brush up on your manners. And USE YOUR HEAD.
Yes! Love your analogies!!! You get it!
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr Thanx, lol. I'm an English professor, analogies are my life, hahhahah 🤓

Thank YOU!!❤️
Thanks always Virginia
Super helpful! Thank you, Virginia. ~Ron
You are so welcome!
Virginia, that was an excellent video! If you can do more like this, I know it would be a hit!!
Thank you! What do you mean specifically when you say “more like this?”😊
How did you add photos over an existing intro of a live video? I didn't know that could be done.
I didn’t. I recorded the videos and put them in my editor and added video there
So grateful to you for all your recent hard work, it’s really helped me ❤
Awww thank you! That means a lot!
Virginia what size video should we choose from Pexels for a RUclips video? Also, SD, HD, Full SD, Quad HD 😢
They make it easy. Select a horizontal video and tap download. That’s all.
Thanks for your quick reply..you’re the best!

This is sooooo good, thank you for this video!
You're so welcome!
Great examples!
Thank you! I so appreciate people volunteering!
