100% Agreed. Nothing to be scared about and just behave like normal. Treat them with compassion. They become like that because of what the White people did to them and their land. These people are “in their own world” and they won’t bother you if you don’t bother them. In fact, large cities always have such so-called danger zones around the world. I’d be very surprised if you can find a ‘clean’ large city in the world !
I attended a talk recently regarding homeless, one thing I picked up was don't take out a cellphone, they feel humiliated as they don't have one. So just walk by without looking at them next time u see them. 要小心!
Vancouver China Town, 35 years ago, used to be a very pouplar place for good food, wet market, Chinese groceries...but now, much worse than Toronto China Town.
E Hasting near Chinatown is extremely horrible….Zombies everywhere ! comparing to Toronto Chinatown, which is much much better although it’s aged comparing to 30 years ago.
Yeah that area is the worse! As a 35 yrs in town, I don't walk along E. Hastings and your E. Pender area but only drive along with car with auto lock up haha. BTW, lots of diff. brand names of cars have better rate of promotions bc too many inventories. Get a license in this Summer, rate will drop at the same time then U both could save lots of time and could go lots of diff places to enjoy Vancouver life

you were mainly in crosstown and chinatown, only part you were in downtown was when you got off the bus. but yes try to stay away from chinatown/downtown east side.

Brandy just shows the reality... Unfortunataly, for obvious reasons, all homeless areas are also high-crime areas. Statistics does not lie. But if you really do not believe the two are related, go ahead to spend more your time there. Good luck
其實Chinatown 以前好興旺, 但Richmond 多左好多唐人鋪頭及TNT,所有亞洲人都去晒Richmond買野, 日頭喺Chinatown其實都幾安全,夜晚就比較差少少, 而家溫市政府想搞番旺Chinatown所以有好多其他店舖開左喺Chinatown, 你地後來坐巴士去嘅地方先至係Downtown(你話似中環嗰度),希望你地鍾意Vancouver啦, enjoy your new home!! Take care and good luck, all the best
佢哋去好差嘅area is east hasting ,從來都係雜但而家更差因為更多drug addiction and mental illness ppl there. 盡量唔好去，去都要aware. 曾經有tourist 比人插that was on the news. West Hastings is better which closer to Coal harbor 商業and 住宅區多數係high end apartments.

不應該拍攝露宿者的照片,雖然人家貧窮,但他們都有私隱和人權的,不要為了好奇而傷害他們的自尊。
多年前的唐人街，人來人往，水洩不通，十分好生意，跟現在水靜河飛，今非昔比，對於無家者不用怕，他們不會打擾路人的，我已生活在溫哥華四十年了
既然男朋友都覺得好危險 點解唔拖實、安慰女朋友快啲離開 而係要繼續拍片 仲取笑女朋友的表情

其實只是在Hastings Street 近Chinatown 才會有很多homeless 和道友，正常來講他們是不會麻煩你的，直行直過便可以。這是歴史的問題，他們很多都是原住民無家可歸。其實在Pender 同Keefer 街的Chinatown area 是安全的。 不用太擔心😅

廿年前就可能係，近年大部份道友係白人，而且好多後生仔女，個個孭住背囊踩單車踩滑板，我睇過有個訪問警察話差不多100%嘅homeless 都係道友, 所以唔關住唔起樓/被迫害/精神病事, 根本就係不停要吸毒所以先至瞓喺個頭，呢度俾道友最多福利, 全國嘅道友嚟晒溫哥華
正常步行，一般沒有問題。大部份的無家者，都是身世可憐的人，不是壞人。但有患精神病者，需要提防。有人說他們是咎由自取，我認為不是：他們大都是受家庭或經濟因素造成的被害者。

我曾经天天在那里行街因为妈妈住唐人街。很安全看似恐怖，他们一般不主动攻击行人，不偷不抢。他们是一些值得同情的人，无家可归在寒冷的天气里露宿街头，没地方洗刷，饥寒交迫，是黑暗的社会现象。
每集都講買車，知道後生仔有車牌就想要車。但其實你地兩個生活上工作上都未站穩陣腳，不如踏實d，貯返d錢先啦!其實大把人冇車，咬緊牙關，挨幾年。忠言逆耳，生活都未穩定，貼地d!

你們現在住的地區是差不多將香港屯門, Arbutus 的 Mello 在溫哥華西區，富人區，消費力很高，就像差不多在香港的南區。你們現在住的地區相對來入溫哥華是比較遠，但不是不方便。就像住在屯門一樣非常方便，不過出中環遠一點。

我新年都去咗溫哥華，亦都去咗你剛去麵包店食嘢，不過好似無坐位只係得企位，應該係分店，都五係太驚，只要小心啲行，當係睇吓當地環境，亦都有行入唐人街ok啦⋯⋯都係一般街坊生意，都有華人生活，好似去咗中國人地方，不過聽講以前好熱鬧，現在冇人敢去，都有D關係

其實那些homeless or addicts 絕少主動攻擊人，尤其addicts, 因為佢哋都已經瘟瘟沌沌，只要我哋快行過左就算，但見到個心係會唔舒服嘅。我哋好難理解呢度管理drugs 的政策，只可以講完全係cultural difference, 就好似安全注射屋的爭議，我作為家長唯有盡力教導自己仔女，減壓係可以用運動、美食、音樂等而唔係用drug 去逃避，況且只會每況愈下。期待你地update 搵工情況。

就算是正常人都不喜欢被拍，何况他们都是homeless 。最搞笑，自己英文又不是很好。 还一直homeless前homeless 后，怕人地吾知他正在拍他们。 你其实都明知道危险，为了拍片而去拍。 如果他们真的攻击你或美美，真的是你们咎由自取。
十分同意。美美都嚇到要急步行，條友仲繼續喺到拍，完全無視女朋友嘅安全同感受，就係呢啲細節顯露出條友其實有幾自私。
一般喺外國生活過嘅人都會以平常心看待無家者，唔會好似條友煞有介事咁將人哋描述到咁恐怖，仲要攞手機出黎拍。

下次可以去吓DOWNTOWN的YALETOWN, WESTEND, COAL HARBOR 或DOWNTOWN CORE 等等,會比較企理同舒服. 遲啲DOWNTOWN有櫻花!
你地去的DOWNTOWN EAST SIDE 的確比較污糟, 不過佢地通常自HIGH唔會干擾其他人. 間MELLO係近年先開，我大概每個星期都會經過你地影片中的地方，間中都會幫襯吓間MELLO XDDD
其實近年嗰區多咗新樓同新店舖,白人其實都幾鐘意附近的如GASTOWN, RAILTOWN 等等, 比較HIPSTER 一點.以前也有白人朋友住CHINATOWN附近,個單位都幾靚!
我地有行過🤣係幾舒服！
