- back at it
- no optimal hen on day 5 (except next to the gordo, but I didn't pay attention to that corner)
- largo attempting to kill the run by not eating [8:36] (probably shot the fruit half a second too early)
- the new ancient ruins gate skip method is so good. basically the perfect way to get over the gate. [8:52]
- small optimisation at 11:50. very consistent if you concentrate.
Other than that, I just cleaned up mistakes in the endgame.
I can get a 12:3x with these strats. After that I probably need to use my new route (lots of rng).

The simple fact that he found 2 gold slimes and 2 lucky slimes and he didn't even hesitate is insane

Imo lucky slimes are useless, they eat meat and give few money.

That's how speedrun works, thousands of hours just to take down a few seconds, or in extreme situations, *one frame*

from what I've seen, there's 3 gold slimes and 3 lucky slimes. kinda crazy considering I've had slimepedia runs (over an hour) where I haven't had a single gold or lucky slime.

Been 2 years since I even played this game but still extreamly cool to see how the strat is basically the same with a couple small things that makes the run faster

2:00 he could have saved a whole second if he didn't hesitate at that honey slime, and he could have saved a few more seconds at 7:26 if he didn't wait a few seconds to do the thing
2:00 after a slime spawns there's a few seconds where it won't eat, so you need to wait until it can.
7:26 I was waiting for my energy to regen but I could have probably gone a second faster (at most).

Hi, I really like watching your speedruns and I would like to ask a question, why are you speedruns on version 1.0.1+ and not 1.0.0? (yes, its translate)
Because version 1.0.0 requires 2 slime gates to be opened to get the ending credits. and in 1.0.1 they changed it to 5 slime gates.

simple explanation why it's better: you skip the entire quarry pretty much on day 7. you can't do this normally since you need to get a rad plort but if we go to the quarry day 1 and get rad largos we can do it. The reason I'm not doing it in runs yet is because it requires tank booster 2 (50 slots) because we only have 2 fruit - cuberries and pogos. Also the start of the run has more rng, mainly getting 4 boom slimes. I'll probably start using this route when I get 12:3x with 200 energy.

probably no chance I'm running this one but I'll explain:
similar to the other one but we can get 200 energy instead of tank 3 (this is most of the timesave). however how we can only carry 80 out of 105 fruit on day 7. This means we need to get phase lemons in the ruins as this count as 2 food units for the quantum gordo. If we get 8 (2 trees) then it'll count as 16 fruit. add another 5 pogo from the tree after the gordo and 4-5 from the gordo crates and we have barely enough. Although getting 2 lemon trees (with fruit on) is very rare and not something you want to be a reset point. and we need 4 on each tree, if it gives 3 then the run is probably dead.
this route is just too crazy to be worth it and I still need to test this fully, so the timesave/timeloss might be better or worse for each. with my estimate it's only a 10 second timesave, probably not something I'm willing to grind.

also can someone tell me what the boom honey largo seems to be the speed runner largo why not any other
honey-boom largos are easily accessible early on and have good prices. The only other largo that's better for speedruns are rad-boom largos. But you can only get 2 fruit in the indigo quarry so that raises big issues, although rad-boom largos will be used for runs with times under 12:30 with a different route. The route has a lot more RNG (luck) so for now it isn't worth doing.
