Hi! Thank you for your comment! We like the faucet so far. Been using it for a couple of years and so far so good. Sometimes the sensor get dirty and it acts up. Just need to wipe the sensor. I wish I watched this prior to installation. Kohler should include a link in that damn manual. I'm a mechanical engineer and good plumber, but this extra wiring bugged me from a design standpoint. I like simplicity and this seemed like added issues. First it was hell connecting wires underneath sink, second I didn't really see all the connections, next I found no operating instructions like how that valve worked. Mine came with a black rubber washer as well, but the instructions don't mention it. I assume it should go underneath and be the first contact with the underside?
Thank you for watching, The rubber washer goes on the top side in between the faucet and the sink. It should be the first contact with the top of the sink.

Thank you for watching. The cover plate does have a bolt on each end to help hold it down. These bolts line up with the standard holes for a faucet with 2 water handles. The middle of the cover plate is held down by the faucet.
Hey Dave thanks for the video mate. It's exactly what I was looking for. I have the exact same faucet and I bought the a similar Kohler goose neck faucet. Can you please send me link to the plumber's wrench? I need to buy one of those but not sure which dimensions I would need.
Hi! Thank you for watching and appreciate your comment! Apologies on using the wrong term in the video, it's actually the basin wrench. ours is the 3/8 to 1" size but I would suggest buying the 3/8 to 1-3/8" size because the handle extends so it is easier to work with. Please see this link for the plumber's wrench - amzn.to/2RWvDj5
I have the same kitchen faucet. Is there any screens/flow restrictors that can get clogged down below under the sink? I have low water pressure. The screen to the sprayer head is clean.
I am not aware of any filters under the sink. it is possible that it could be an issue with the electric valve. you can test it by putting it in manual to bypass the sensor like I showed in the video. Thank you for watching.
Hi! Thank you for your comment. So far so good. It works well for us. I like the sprayer. Only thing is it does keep swing on one side for us. Maybe something with the installation? It doesn't stay on the left side of the sink too well. Afterward we saw our friend having the Moen MotionSense one. The sensor location is different. Not sure if that's better or not. In any case, we like this one so far 🙂 Thank you!
Great job like many homes the bottom area of the sink is congested with garbage disposal, water filters and a trap. One question with the water lines so close to the electrical outlet why isn't the outlet a GFIC?
It may be. The outlet may be on a multi-outlet line. The GFIC could be located at an outlet closer to the circuit breaker. When you have a doubt, you can use an outlet tester. I installed a water-proof outlet receptacle on mine.
I bought this yesterday and installed it. Everything is great EXCEPT the faucet won't go right i can make the backward U part swivel left but when I go to move it right it gives me resistance.. Please help... any advice?
Dave I have a question how can I take the head apart to clean it? because It's running little low on gallons per minute. I have a feeling some gunk may have built up underneath the airaider and in the supply lines. This comes after Changing a circulation pump connected to my solar panel water heater set up. I never could have imagined that would happen but it did and it seems thats only the Faucet That sustained a dramatic change where My other kitchen faucets bath possets and shower heads all seem to bounce back To normal operation and water flow per minute. So where I'm going with this; is this Kohler faucet. I also bought from Costco. in invertedly I threw away the manual and I don't know how to take apart the head of the Fossett without damaging it.
Thank you for your comment. Depending on the type of sink you have the regular plumbers putty might leave a stain on it. I always recommend using the non staining type because it works on all sinks and you don't have to worry if you have the right kind or not.
I have an intermittent but frequent problem where water just dribbles out of the faucet, and I hear a whining below. Valve diaphragm?. (I've had the batteries out and bypass turned on for a year.) How do you (unhook) get the hose off that clicked onto the valve (same for getting the valve off of the copper outlet tube), and can I just click the spray valve hose directly to the copper outlet tube, removing the valve box entirely from the equation?
Good luck with that. I got two of them installed and one of them stopped working. I changed batteries. Still doesn’t work. I had the one that isn’t working less than a year. I don’t even know it it was 6 months. I’m getting my plumber back out to see if he can see why it’s not working. If he can’t figure it out I will have to replace it and it won’t be with this brand again. It has a 5 year warranty so keep your receipts. I can’t find mine. Lesson learned !
Hi Guys, I have two of these faucets going bad. when you run hot water through them after a 6-8 months they just stop responding while hot water or even worm water running. I replaced the one under the warranty but 6 months later same thing, only when hot water running. anyone noticed that and have suggestions? Many Thanks.
Sorry to hear that you have been having trouble with the faucet. We installed 2 of them a couple of years ago and have not had any issues. It is possible that if you have hard water that calcium deposits are clogging up the valves. Thank you for watching.
Hey there, excellent HANDS on procedure, I have the same faucet that I purchased from Costco, I’m having a problem with it leaking when it is shut off ( by hands free) drips continuously. Is the problem in that white box valve unit.? Thanks in advance and is that part available?
Thank you for watching. Sorry to hear that you are having problems with the faucet. From what you describe it does sound like an issue with the white valve box. Some things to try would be to switch it back and forth and few times between hands free and manual using the black knob on the side of the white box to see if you can dislodge any dirt that may be holding it open. Also double check that the batteries are not dead.
@@DIYProjectsByDave that’s exactly what it is, I’m using it plugged in to electrical Anyway I turned that switching pad to manual and the leak stopped. I’m sure after 3 years it is no longer in warranty, any chance you have a part number for that and is it relatively easy to replace Any thanks again Frank
I would try turning it back to Auto again and see if it works now. If it us not fully in the Auto position it will leak like that. Unfortunately no I do not know the part number. You can try contacting Kohler and see if they can help you. Good luck.
It's a common problem for the mesh filter on the solenoid to get clogged. Before connecting the inlet on the solenoid, run the water on both hot and cold for a minute to get any debris out. Will save people frustration of possibly losing flow.
I have no water flow after connecting outlet hose to valve box. Water is running from outlet hose after disconnecting. I tried to change batteries. It's still not running. Any idea what I can do?
Hi Dave, I have this same faucet and all of a sudden, wen I swipe my hand under the sensor the water turns on for just a brief second, and then turns off . Then the light flashes red once. The batteries are good, the sensor is clean, and I unplugged the cables to the battery box and reconnected....no change. When I put the faucet into manual override, I can hear the on and off click that you hear when it is in automatic mode. I'm not sure if that means anything. Do you have any idea what I ought to do , or where the problem is? Any help is greatly appreciated.
I am sorry too hear that you are having problems with your faucet. It sounds like you have already checked the basics. I have only time I have had anything like that happen is when either something else is too close to the sensor like a scrub brush, or if I poor boiling water in the sink and then steam triggers the sensor. But since yours is happening all the time it doesn't seem like that is the issue. Unfortunately I am not sure, maybe an issue with the sensor? Let us know if you figure it out. Thank you for watching.
Hi, I just bought this for my kitchen, the problem is that the space between the sink and the uper cabinets is just the measure of the faucet so when I tried to install it I couldn't becouse of the gold tube (that one threaded tube) . It is any other way to install it? like to pull apart the gold tube from the faucet and put it down to up? Any recomendation will help me.
I have yet to see your situation unless it's a full-size cabinet. I would return the faucet and replace it with a shorter one. It's an excellent faucet, but...
The Make is Kohler and Model is Malleco Touchless Kitchen Faucet R77748-SD-VS. We got ours at Costco and you can also find it here on Amazon - amzn.to/3C6bsAB
That device is a powered water valve controlling the faucet's water supply. You turn the switch clockwise to turn on the sensor. Counter-Clockwise de-activates the sensor and turns the faucet into manual mode. I hope my reply helps you.
Hello I have a similar faucet. Problem when I turn it on the water it dribbles, replaced cartridge still a problem. It only works when I mess with the shut-off valves under the sink😵 Do you have any idea what could be the problem? PLEASE AND THANKS!
Thank you for watching. The problem is probably with the electric Valve under the sink where the wires connect. Make sure that the black button for the manual override is turned all the way until it stops. If it's only turned part way it could cause this. Another thing to check is to make sure that the hoses do not have a Sharp bend in them that is blocking the water flow.
@@DIYProjectsByDave thank you very much for responding. However, sorry, but I finally got it working a few minutes ago. Im sorry for using your time.😣🙏
Shouldn't that weight simply attach to that white plastic on that water line, seems to be in the right position? Interesting coupling you've got on the disposer drain pipe.
Thank you for watching. The weight needs to be installed on the hose a couple of inches up from the bottom of the loop the exact location May differ depending on your install. Yes the wires are hard to get too when you are under the sink. You just have to feel for the connection. The connection on the drain you saw is for our reverse osmosis system.
Hey Dave/Wini, how's it going today with this Faucet, any problems so far considering its been almost 3+ years and so many models are out now, I was thinking of going with the Kohler Emile - ruclips.net/video/xJdW2Jd0uWk/видео.html need your advice, many thanks/
This is a cheap POS. The manual override at 8:56 stopped turning. The sensor doesn't sense anything even with fresh batteries. Less than a year's worth of use.

@@DIYProjectsByDave Thanks Dave
I have the same kitchen faucet. Is there any screens/flow restrictors that can get clogged down below under the sink? I have low water pressure. The screen to the sprayer head is clean.
I am not aware of any filters under the sink. it is possible that it could be an issue with the electric valve. you can test it by putting it in manual to bypass the sensor like I showed in the video. Thank you for watching.
I'm considering buying the same faucet from Costco, what are your thoughts on the faucet now that you've had it almost a year?
Please help... any advice?
How do you disconnect the value box from its connection? I am in the process of replacing with a new one and the upper connector isn't cooperating.
No non staining plumbers putty needed? I'm using the Kohler simplice single hole and am undecided. Suggestion? Tx
Thank you for your comment. Depending on the type of sink you have the regular plumbers putty might leave a stain on it. I always recommend using the non staining type because it works on all sinks and you don't have to worry if you have the right kind or not.
thank you
how do you remove the flow restrictor on a Kohler Lir 4339?
Sorry to hear what happened to you.... Our is still ok so far. We don't use the batteries though. We use AC adapter.
@@DIYProjectsByDave thanks for the response, I will try that.
@@DIYProjectsByDave that’s exactly what it is, I’m using it plugged in to electrical
Anyway I turned that switching pad to manual and the leak stopped. I’m sure after 3 years it is no longer in warranty, any chance you have a part number for that and is it relatively easy to replace
Any thanks again
Frank
I would try turning it back to Auto again and see if it works now. If it us not fully in the Auto position it will leak like that. Unfortunately no I do not know the part number. You can try contacting Kohler and see if they can help you. Good luck.

Is it possible to hardwire so no battery is needed?
It's a common problem for the mesh filter on the solenoid to get clogged. Before connecting the inlet on the solenoid, run the water on both hot and cold for a minute to get any debris out.
Will save people frustration of possibly losing flow.
Thank you for the tips and feedback!
I installed a GE whole-house water filter on the main water line.
I have no water flow after connecting outlet hose to valve box. Water is running from outlet hose after disconnecting. I tried to change batteries. It's still not running. Any idea what I can do?
Mine works on batteries but will not work on directly connected to electrical outlet although it shows sensor light on ?
I just hooked the sprayer chord without connecting the sensor. How do I unhook the sprayer chords?
How did you manage pass the last ring 6:54 exactly
Thank you for the comment. Do you mean the nut (last ring)? Basically put everything in the right order and push them up to screw in.
How do you replace the aerator?
Thank you for watching. That is a good questions. I have not tried to do that on this faucet yet.
What is the product make and model ?
The Make is Kohler and Model is Malleco Touchless Kitchen Faucet R77748-SD-VS. We got ours at Costco and you can also find it here on Amazon - amzn.to/3C6bsAB
Have you figured out how to lock it in sense mode so the handle only controls temperature and not switch to manual mode?
That device is a powered water valve controlling the faucet's water supply. You turn the switch clockwise to turn on the sensor. Counter-Clockwise de-activates the sensor and turns the faucet into manual mode. I hope my reply helps you.
Mine stop working and tried to turn de Black screw clockwise but wouldn't turn! Super tide
Any one know the size of nut with 2 screws to mount the faucet?
I bout a used one without it
Thanks
Why not rechargable batteries? So they can sell you the DC addaptior that is NOT included in the box!
Why do I have 3 valves under my sink 🙄
Can you help me? I cannot get that damn sensor to work.
Is the faucet at the on position or is the sensor malfunctioning?
@@DIYProjectsByDave thank you very much for responding. However, sorry, but I finally got it working a few minutes ago. Im sorry for using your time.😣🙏
@@coded321 Glad you got it to work! Honestly it took me a while to get used to the operation! Thank you for stopping by! Sorry for the late reply.
The line is actually marked for the weight placement.
I couldn’t do it, the threads are fine they are not standard
Sorry to hear that...Could you elaborate? Hmmm the threads on?
i couldnt turn the water off and i snapped the swiitch off and had to call the repair man
Oh no, sorry to hear that....
Hey Dave/Wini, how's it going today with this Faucet, any problems so far considering its been almost 3+ years and so many models are out now, I was thinking of going with the Kohler Emile - ruclips.net/video/xJdW2Jd0uWk/видео.html
need your advice, many thanks/
Hi! Thank you for reaching out! Our faucet is working well! No issues for us so far. The Emile model seems very nice and elegant. 👍
5:00 electric wire next to my water tap. No thanks.
Good video though.
Thank you for your feedback!
This is a cheap POS. The manual override at 8:56 stopped turning. The sensor doesn't sense anything even with fresh batteries. Less than a year's worth of use.
They sucks the big one ,customer service sucks , don’t buy , better get a cheap one nothing against you just the products
Customer service sucks:(
