- This remarkable peak in Washington State has a way of captivating the soul and reminding us of the indescribable beauty that lies here in our backyard of Washington State. Although not for the timid (and a legit 3rd level scramble - even on route), White Chuck Mountain is definitely one to add to your fun list. Filmed early July 2023
Looks amazing. It's almost criminal how little I've explored Washington!
it's a secret- so don't tell anyone... I've lived here 30+ years and it was my first time to go there 🤫- it's a gem of a place!
Absolutely magnificent but I'll stick to the trails thank you.
I did this solo about 40 years ago. Biggest challenge was finding the right road in an active logging operation. The white downward sloping rock was a tad tricky especially going back down. I found the “trail” on the return.
It was easy to get off the "trail" and make life a lot more "interesting" - i wouldn't want to be there when it's wet!
Woww...stunning place to hike. Big like
thanks for comment!
Very cool! I had been thinking about checking out the north facing bowl to the west of the NW peak for some last split laps of the season since I heard it can hold snow into July, but the melt seemed so fast this year didn't make the trek. Just for beta for the future, did that bowl have much snow? I'm guessing you probably could see into it since the ridge trail skirts right along the top of it before you get to the scramble section.
yes! the north bowl still has a fairly continuous snow sheet on it - just a bit of blue ice exposed. I have a fairly good picture of it if you'd like to see!
What a great day! Thanks for sharing
