@@patdarago1194 Roger Waters: The interesting thing is that when we finally did do an album the album (Wish You Were Here) is actually about not coming up with anything, because the album is about none of us really being *there*, or being *there* only marginally. About our non-preence in the situation we had clung to through habit, and are still clinging to through habit -- being P.F. Though its moving into a sligtly different are again because I definitely think that at the beginning of 'Wish You Were Here' recording sessions most of us didn't wish we were there at all, we wished we were somewhere else. “To me, there are three things we all should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that’s a full day. That’s a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you’re going to have something special.” -Jimmy V

David Gilmore stated in an interview that the song was written from the perspective of youngster playing the guitar along with the radio. When I heard that I was kind of floored as I was the youngster playing the guitar along with the radio and have had my own youngsters playing along with myself. Despite what people say about this being about Syd Barret the bands own words are contrary to that. In the documentary, "The Story of Wish You Here" both waters and Gilmour both had differing interpretations. Therein lies the greatness of this song, one hundred people can listen to it and you will have one hundred different interpretations. The band themselves consider this one of the greatest songs and I concur.

Dude!! This song makes me think of MY DAD Too! One day, in 1995, (I was 33... he was 66) I was listening to this album at his house, when he came in and said, "Wow, Hey this Music sounds Great, Who is this?"
I said Pink Floyd, he said, is the Rest of the Album THIS GOOD?" I Rewound the CASETTE Tape and Played him this Entire Album with Headphones on!!! I could Hear the songs from the Headphones and I Cried a few Times as he Closed his Eyes and MANY Times HE got Tears in his eyes from different songs! After he Died, I Keep thinking of this song as a Tribute to Missing HIM!!!

“Young Lust”, “One of my turns. “Young lust” is more upbeat and funky-if you can do the official videos, great! (I’ve seen others do it( BUT.. if not, then a lyric video or something- Another brick in the Wall is a fantastic album! Songs fade into one another and take you on one Hell of a ride! The move is phenomenal greatness! ❤️✌️✨

You don't have to hold your feelings back, let it out if you want. The strongest people in the world are those who know that they can openly feel without being broken. This song always gets to me. My dad was a massive Pink Floyd fan and I was raised listening to them. Every morning to wake me up for school he'd put on one of their albums and turn it up to max and I'd get up and walk out of my bedroom to find him cooking breakfast, "dancing" and bopping around the kitchen. He loved Pink Floyd's music so much it was a corner stone in his life, he would often quote lines from their songs. He passed away a year ago and I can barely listen to a Pink Floyd song without balling my eyes out. He was a great man and now he has learned to fly, no longer "tongue tied and twisted just an earth bound misfit."

Any of us that have listened to Pink Floyd realize the strength their songs have on our emotions. Between their exceptional lyrics and the unique melodies you cannot help but be affected. All Pink Floyd albums are inbeded in my brain. They created their albums to be listened to like it was one long record. I listen to one Pink Floyd song and i immediately think of the next song that will be playing. It's truly the only way to really "get" Pink Floyd....one whole album at a time.

We would love to see you sit back, smoke, relax, and listen to Floyd albums from beginning to end! How they are meant to be listened to! Most of their main albums are one giant story/plot/theme from start to finish, so listening to one song is of course amazing, but its just one link/chapter in the entire story! More Floyd!!!! Keep grinding brother!
