Couldn’t the compound be mixed with the paint instead of repainting it so much? Looks really good though!
You can mix concrete stain with joint compound to make it the same color all the way through, which would probably be better for something like kitchen cabinets that would be scrubbed every so often. However, you can't get the luster of the paint that they used here, and the paint helps cover things like little slips and oopsies of the embossing process so it turns out looking much better if you do the highlight paint as a seperate step. Not with the company, just a nerd who likes this stuff!
