    With that little of a ground clearance - more 'Cotswolds' than 'Himalayan', one would imagine.

    Looks great. A road based adv tourer is probably what their line up is missing. Let's face it, that's what the majority of adventure bikes are! I imagine it'll be 750 rather than 650, bearing in mind the double discs that have also been spotted on Interceptor updates. RE have a great worldwide following, and a Himalayan 650 has been on the wish list for a long time. Stiff competition for sure, but I'd wager that in Europe there are a lot of people who are still less than confident putting their money into the Chinese brands.

    I believe just like the African market Indian bikes will be little more costlier than Chinese ones but will make up for it with reliability, riding comfort, character and longevity. Indian brands make up for 60-70% of African two-wheeler market.
    as for European and Japanese brands, sooner or later R.E will have to up their game with Quality and charisma where they are not just a Cheaper alternative but are a true competition.
    looking at this they seem to be going in that direction.
    R.E knows how to manage weight. I mean look at shotgun, no one complains about its weight after riding it.
    P.S I love the looks of this 650/750, Looks like the best bike RE ever made.

    Im happy to see re flirting with the Big Bike market, even though i personally have no interest in it. If it makes them more successful on the western markets, good for them. I will always prefer thier retro bikes. As far as modern retros go, re seems to be the most authentic, and somehow they have kept them in reach of my price range! Cant wait to get a petrol green Bear, or a teal Classic 650!

    I haven’t seen anything that makes me want to sell my Himi 450. From any manufacturer. (I’ve had Teneres, Vstroms, GSA’s etc.,)

    So, here we are equating cubic capacity as ‘better’ in some way.
    How many 411’s have RE sold since release?
    That should tell everyone exactly what people want.

    The Royal Enfields are heavy with good paint, and handle well for the weight. Also the brakes are just OK. Many people like the Interceptor 650 and Himalayan 450 a lot even with the less than ideal aspects, somehow the whole adds up to more.

    RE offers so much choice, that maybe, competition will come from within. The Bear 650 is also a light offroader with highway capabilities.
    Hard to keep up these days with RE. I hope one day they will bring out a Himalayan or Bear 350.

  • @AlexOnABoat
    @AlexOnABoat 2 дня назад +2

    What's this bike for? It's for the massive Indian market, where it will be cheaper than all the competition, due to the combination of local build and high tariffs on imported machines.
    We're just a blip on their sales chart compared to domestic sales.

  • @paulpm57
    @paulpm57 2 дня назад +1

    This doesn't make sense, they have just released the Bear 650, bringing out a bike like this will dilute their own market. It would make more sense to develop/evolve the Bear with after market add on parts and for an upgraded model release next season.

    If I was to buy another bike in addition to the two I currently own, I'd probably be looking at an ADV style tourer, for the road, I'm not likely to take it off road. I've ridden off road over the years (on proper trail/dirt bikes) and I'm unlikely to be doing it again - but if I did I would buy a "proper" bike for that purpose.
    I really like the CF Moto bikes and really, REALLY like the look of the Moto Morini - but, the dealer network concerns me somewhat, especially when it comes to touring longer distances on them, through Europe for example, or even just in the UK. I'm a big fan of RE and love my Interceptor, I would definitely consider a 750 "Himalayan" type bike if the price was right. I think once the dealer network and spares availability of the Chinese manufacturers has improved then they'll be a force to be reckoned with, but for now, I'm not sure I'd be prepared to take the risk...

    £8400 for the equivalent, bulletproof Suzuki 650 V-strom (A little more for the more offroad focussed XE version), and around £9k for the v-Strom 800DE (arguably should be called a P-Strom)... there's a huge amount of competition in that sector of the market.

    There's been an awful lot of speculation, based upon a couple of pics. RE might be checking-out a new frame, while a new engine is in development. Or, they might be checking-out a big-bore twin, using some old hack of a frame that was kicking around in the shed. The whole thing might be a psyop to throw the competition off the scent.

  • @ianhalliwell8604
    @ianhalliwell8604 2 дня назад +1

    How many different bikes now have the 650 engine, I've lost count, but you have to admire RE's ingenuity when it comes to marketing and production. BSA on the other hand don't seem to be able to follow Enfield's example so far only producing one model with another to come, sometime, possibly.

      The thing that works for RE is them acquiring Harris...and the Indian company itself had a reputation for what we call - Jugaad -making something work by winging it with a lot of ingenuity! The old Thunderbird is a great example of that...and now that jugaad has been backed by Harris doing their magic with the frames...not by creating new ones..but just modifying the rider triangle to completely change how a bike feels...we see it with the 350s and now the 650s! And I dont think any other bike manufacturer has been able to pull this off!

    This was a planned leak by Enfield, to offset some of the customers who've ditched getting the himi 450 (sales have been dropping month on month ) waiting for the the ktm 400adv coming out. Current adv390 pricing points to higher than Royal Enfield 650 pricing .

    Royal Enfield aren't resting on their laurels, are they? There are suggestions that it is a stroked version of the 650 to give more torque. (The barrel appears taller - seven fins on the prototype against six on the 650.)

    It will be cheaper than competition in India, so there will be a market there. In Europe it will probably be priced closer to other makes and the competition will be closer priced and therefore not very high sales numbers.
    But really it doesn't matter that much due to royal Enfield huge following and sales numbers in India.

    I saw something on the Himalayan 750cc this morning on the tube to be launched in 2026. Also seen the RE site stipulateing a 250cc. ( not the flea). Release in 2026,2027.
    As the competition tries to keep up with RE as weve seen, IMO waters have to be explored in a market they already contributed to in the past... a 250cc, 411cc, 585cc,650cc, 750cc. It's hard to keep RE from progessing forward. Marketing I imagine 🤔😅

    CFMOTO is hitting the bike market really hard right now. We can clearly see that they have stolen all the tech and design from KTM and their partners and in doing so, have lept in front of well established companies that were known for the bikes people buy at the affordable price scale. Royal Enfield has upped their game with the Sherpa engine, but is it enough when CFMOTO can manufacture something better, cheaper and comes with far better tech and complete luggage set?

    So hey...Harley has been spreading the same motor(s) across model lines SUCCESSFULLY for several decades. They offer different displacements to along with the different "flavors", if you will. It works and it works well. So why shouldn't Royal Enfield do this?
    The Japanese marques have long offered models of bikes that featured incremental displacement increases over the model years. Do you need an real example? Kawasaki. The Ninja 250. The Ninja 300. The Ninja 400. The Ninja 500. So why shouldn't Royal Enfield do this?
    Here's something that Royal Enfield is doing that, for the greater part, HD and even the Big 4 from Japan aren't doing or at least not doing it enough:
    They're offering real world quality, real world USABLE performance and AFFORDABILITY. Their 350/411/452 motors all deliver superb fuel economy and the 650 twiins aren't too shabby at it either. That is something that many companies have in their rush to the fastest quarter mile and top speed have forgotten how to do. Make a fun, affordable to buy, maintain and insure motorcycle. One that works for real world owners that just want to have fun getting to school, work or across country. So why shouldn't Royal Enfield do that?
    They do.
    SS in The USA.

    I think at a price over 7000 its doomed,,,, 7thou is top price for these low priced bikes.. That said I hope its a 750 with LOTS of low end torque,,, I would have like to have seen low specced front forks ( easier to repair and replace) I like the fact its got a twin disc setup, I,m glad to see a center stand ..My BSA does not have one ,and for me its a BIG letdown.... Styling looks good .. I would prefer a 21 inch front .. Not sure about those pannier brackets,, I would not like tobe forced to buy RE pannier just cos nothing else fits.. In my opinion its not a real Himalayan if its a gutless wonder,,plus it needs tobe able to go off road regards less whether the buying public do or not.. Appy new year
