      I have Noble Ambition and Vaporwave (my favorite). I think Vaporwave has a bias towards low number rolls though. I will be testing it soon. Noble ambition has rolled pretty well. *Very* pretty, and ships quick.

    Nothing sucks worse then losing a character you really like just because the dm feels like killing you and doesn't actually give you a chance to survive.

    No no, I'm not crying. YOU are! Jokes aside, this is wholesome and I just love it whenever someone's party 'adopts' a PC, it seems to happen in whatever campaigns I'm in more often than you'd think.

    I'm running Icewind Dale and I could be wrong but if that last encounter is what I think it is then it isn't supposed to be a fight against any high level casters and is instead mostly a social encounter.

    • @IsilmeTuruphant

      @@Revan_7even I think they also just didn't want to DM anymore, and didn't have the balls to up and say 'I don't wanna DM this campaign anymore', and also didn't want to be outed as a jerk by cratering the party, so gradually ramped up the challenge level frog in boiling water style.

    I know recently I've been looking for a group, solo RP I'm good at, but I need more group RP practice. I don't mind occasional tough encounters as long as they're survivable and don't happen too often. I'm a straight adult dude that prefers to only play with adults cause I'm blunt with my words and picked up my grandma's lack of a filter 😂. I'm happy to report I have a PC that I can use Roll20 on and I almost always need the rules available to check so I don't annoy the party too much, at least rules on what's in my character's kit since I'm still kinda new and the books are too expensive. At least thx to my video game habits and each book is worth 2-4x each game I buy when I have the spare money, I'm glad the PHB is available to read for free online. Haven't seen or read, let alone experienced a module game yet. Don't like metagaming anyway and hopefully there aren't any memes, roughly 98% of them go over my head and/or aren't funny to me at all. Can still joke around without memes, and I find it really rude to talk about other games during a separate game, especially when not all the players are in both games

    Funny enough, I have a similar story.
    One of the first campaigns I was in at college was when I played a Wildfire Dragonborn and began with a small group at the beginning of Icewind Dale. After a few sessions, I was one of the only players that was eager to show.
    The DM of that campaign was also in a Curse of Strahd campaign as well, and the two groups had a large 10 player crossover that had a tug-of-war between two druids and a ranger against 2 barbarians which the barbarians lost because of a draft horse.
    Since the Icewind Dale campaign was running down due to low activity, that DM and the DM of Curse of Strahd talked and were able to pull my Dragonborn from a prison of ice and death to a prison of mist and death (shockingly no difference in a sense).
    Since being thrown from one realm to another, my Dragonborn is still hanging in there as I have been a part of that campaign since early August (I think). Not only that, the group I am in now posts the sessions on RUclips, so it is safe to say that I am staying with them for a long time.

    Reiterates that you must have consequences in your world, threaten an innkeeper? he calls the town guard, you escalate? he calls other adventurers, you start wantonly murder hoboing? your party’s reputation is shot and no one will hire you, you escalate further to banditry? TPK when stronger adventurers come for your bounty. Most people do whatever they can to avoid conflict but Don’t let a problem player or players run you out of your own campaign like the first DM had happen to him

      I haven't played much DnD but I did play in a game for a few months where we had to deal with something like this. One of the players was sort of an edgelord type and he rolled a wizard who carried a big scythe and specialized in necromancy. He then thought it would be a fantastic idea to reanimate some corpses and parade them down the street of the local town. Cue surprised Pikachu face when the town guard shows up, none of the other players help him, and his character gets arrested and carted off to jail.

    what a trip!
    if it were up to me, I would have left the secondo group because a Dm who think "Hard Fight = More fun" is not a Dm. Is a fucking sadist who deserve to play solo. But in the end "not all evil comes to harm".

    • @funnyblog100
      @funnyblog100 Год назад +2

      The most dangerous villain I created is not one the players will actually fight. In fact he acts as a mysterious benefactor. The reason he’s sending them on quests is to eliminate his competition. Every threat the party deals with only helps this individual take over. So they are unknowingly helping the greater evil in their quest lured by the promise of adventure and possible loot. It’s a cruel subversion of the usual tropes.
