Great review. Very informative, and you know your stuff when describing the details as well as gave a great weigh in of your opinion, having actual use of this bible. So many other bible reviews have not used the bible they are reviewing. Especially appreciate the info and comparison to the compact with matching pagination. Keep up the great content sharing!

I have this one in the handcrafted series but didn’t realize it was paged the same as the other two. Really like the layout so might have to take a look at those. Thanks for pointing that out!

Love how the 2 editions have the same pagination. The red verse numbers is also a big plus. They look a lot like the old Schuyler Antique Brown, but maybe that’s just on camera. Thanks for another great review Jonathan. 👍👌🙏

It has alot more variation than the antique brown in person! One of the coolest looking imitation leathers out there. Not as deep of a grain, though, sadly. I appreciate you, Mike!

Awesome review! I actually have this one but haven’t really looked at it much yet. So that’s really cool to see that it has the same pagination I had no clue!!
I really like the paper, I personally thought it felt close to a 36+ gsm. Also a super deal for $15 at Lifeway ✌🏼

@@WontonDisciple yeah man between this at 15 and the blue single-column compact at 5. That’s some awesome value

@@TheBibleReviewer don't forget that the personal size single column is also the same pagination and going for around $20. I'm excited for the handcrafted collection editions of the personal size next year

I have a brown “leather touch” CSB. It’s about 7 years old. I like the translations, but not the leather touch. The “leather” has worn off on the edges and where the cover folds to the spine. The text block is very sturdy and is holding up well.

@@JR-lg7fd: Actually I also have a large print single column CSB in brown goatskin leather which I like very much. My only ""complaints about that are the paper is too thin and creases easily, and the margins are too narrow, especially the gutter. However, my wife and daughter gave me for father's day have given me a Holman Hand Crafted single column, large print, wide margin genuine leather edition. I like it very much. The paper is heavier weight, the pages don't stick together. This makes turning a page so much easier. and the wide margins are better for notes and comments. I definitely like the CSB translation though. It is very good to read especially out loud in public, and it just flows.
I'm in my late 70's and the smaller print is hard on the eyes to read, that's why I prefer the large print. I did look at a journalling edition, but the print was too small. The large print is, for me, just right.
My wife and daughter tease me that I have too many different Bible Translations and copies of the same translation. They've made me promise to get ride of some of them. We'll see

Great review. Is that imitation leather more like what Zondervan uses?

It's pretty unique to Holman. I wouldn't say they're similar at all in my experience
