This hobby can get expensive, sometimes gunpla tubers forget normal people don't get kits for free or make back the money from a youtube upload. I always keep that in mind when I talk about kits.
I love your review and build videos... but mostly your voice overs and opinons. They are hilarious, honest, and on point. I think you verbalise how everyone else feels, and people like it.
I like anything you put up. Every time I see you build something I run out and buy it. I had this full mechanic kit for a year. It sucks but, this resin conversion make me wanna change things up.
Honestly I think a lot of people are getting more used to long-form contant like podcasts and what not. I love having something long to listen to while I build my kits. While maybe not hundreds of hours I think it'd be nice to listen to another builder for a couple hours, and you have a good voice that I enjoy listening to.
I just want to say you are the only person I've ever heard bring up weathering scale. I'm with you man, I pass on weathering mostly because I'm honest with myself that I can't make it look to scale. Same with battle damage. If it doesn't look real I don't do it. It's kind of like bonsai. Capturing a miniature IN SCALE is what it is about.
I appreciate all of the content you share with us Papa Gundam. 😇 I especially enjoy when you throw your voice, I can't not imagine it's Billy yelling at you from the other room! 🤣 Ignore the complainers, keep being true to yourself, NOW MAKE ME LAUGH CLOWN! 🤡😜🥰
What ever videos you post on whatever channel you upload i smash that like button be yourself and i keep watching liking and comment keep it up your videos make me laugh while working at this jobs
That lupus looks badass. I ended up having more than one of these cause the pegs for the leg joints broke not even a hour after building it . I tried to pose it for my shelf and the leg fell off , so the second one I just put it there standing lol
I enjoy your reviews a lot. Especially when I'm listening to them for the 5th, 6th, etc time while drawing. A gundam building podcast would be a baller thing to listen to!
As much as I like weathered machinery and that grim n grimy aesthetic, yeah it's VERY easy to go overboard. In Gunpla, it seems to suit the grunt suits and the Barbados but your style seems to have a restraint that some folks lack and yet still hits the right notes every time. Now aside from that, I still tune in to this channel for the simple fact you're as straight up here as on your other channels. Whether it's unboxing, reviewing, or painting you tend to bring an up front and honest view of what you're working with and what goes on in your head at the time. Maybe it's meditation, maybe it's plastic and paint based zen, either way this channel has a chill vibe that seems to appeal to alot of folks.
Are you planning on the Barbartos Dynasty Warrior Resin kit in the future? I bought it recently and would love to see a video of it because there aren't any out there yet.
Ok after watching the video I have an actual comment. Bro, that comment of the Warhammer communities mini paintings is so true. Some of the units out there look so insane. I saw this Grey Knight army the other day that looked like it was a 1/75 scale because of amount of detail that fit onto that little figure. Side note, four channels? There's the podcast channel, this one, and ItsaGundam.
The build videos sound like a big undertaking. I enjoy the ones I have watched. Your reviews seem to be very informative and honest, though I know next to nothing about gunpla.
Your channel is fine. High quality work, honest opinions, and you rarely come off as a paid shill. Yes, if you want this channel to blow up you're gonna need to placate the masses and bow to their monthly whims
I totally agreed with that. People crying and expecting too much, but it's your content, your model kit, your choice, and your decisions. If some people want you to do differently it's their problem like "custom your own gunpla show me your vision". All I am saying is I'm more interested in how people creating their own creation, vision, and inspiration. Instead to force someone and try to copy style/vision. That's not original that is pleasing people against your own free will. Keep up the good work man I am still interested in your custom build.
Most of the why they have not released "insert model version here" for most kits can be summed up as how popular in Japan it is. The better question would be how come Bandai has not released a PG Nu Gundam, PG Sazabi, or PG X1 Full Cloth yet.
I'm a simple man. I see Barbatos, I click. I hope Bandai makes MG 1/100 Barbatos Lupus and MG 1/100 Barbatos Lupus Rex, both regular retail release. Please don't pull any P-Bandai BS Bandai, unless it's warranted. For example of a P-Bandai Lupus and Lupus Rex. - P-Bandai MG 1/100 Barbatos Lupus Lupus with the big mace weapon used against the Mobile Armour, and alternative damage parts & platform for the photograph ending. - P-Bandai MG 1/100 Barbatos Lupus Rex Lupus Rex includes extra parts for the final fight scene and ending. Berserk Red Eyes ×2, extended metal wires ×3, Graze Axe, Damage parts (head, chest, and arms), 1 Javelin, and 1/100 scale figurines of Kudelia & Atra.
I have a sinking feeling that an MG Lupus and Lupus Rex will be P-Bandai but I love your idea of them having option packs that give them battle damage. I could also see the Lupus having a P-Bandai accessory pack with all of the weapons it used from the MS Option packs
It looks amazing I really enjoyed the build video I love the watching like that with the nice detail being done. But I understand why you don't like doing it to much me personally I just build the kit and thsts it I don't paint or detail. I can't afford the paints and don't have the time to do all that extra details. I just find joy put of building the kits I don't need all the extra stuff lol.
I have never watched Gundam in my life but i'll happily watch any content you put out... do you livestream painting ever whilst you're just sitting and chilling and going through your processes?
At first I had not a care in the world about this Gundam, now after building 2 different versions of barbatos , he really grew on me and I would not mind getting a mg and taking my time with is. I mean it would be on the build list that’s already 30 deep but eee fuck it I’ll take more kits
Most people don't know what they want. 9:21 Yea. I'm pretty sure Bandai will eventually make MG ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos Lupus and MG ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex. Knowing Bandai they'll probably be P-Bandai releases.
I'm only disappointed in the lack of IBO MG kits. Sure, Barbatos is a good start. But I'm kinda salty that there's no MG Bael, Gusion or Hyakuren yet. Back on topic, I love your build. I will say the yellow parts would've looked nicer in gold. But, I know metallic paints aren't cheap. Overall, nice vid, nice kit. Keep up the good work.
Regarding the crappy Full Mechanics frame, I have a friend who modified the Lupus parts to go on the MG Barbatos frame and it really improves the articulation. Still sucks that the Lupus doesn't have a proper MG but it's an option for now Also I have always wanted that resin conversion kit. Yours looks especially dope with the weathering. Gonna have to try both this resin conversion and the MG frame modification my friend did should I ever get a FM Lupus
What's the odd that Bandai will do IBO RGs? Built HG Bael and I find it lacking in terms of color separation, while the more recent MG Barbatos is good, now wishing that be scaled down to 1/144.
I would guess Purple Power or an equivalent, it's a degreasing solution you can get at auto shops, for stripping paint or otherwise thoroughly cleaning a part off. I've used it to get the mekki plating off a Phenex kit. ;D
Looks fricking sucks about not being able to pose. Also with that rant at the end I'll counter it. Bandai will probably release those kits but will lock it behind P-bandai, Watch the Barbatos Lupus/Lupus rex be Premium, as for the Leo it might just come out as a full Weapon set then different colors under P-bandai
I have a question. I have the same 1/100 Lupus kit and resin conversion kit and I'm planning to do a build similar to this one. How did you cast a new set of clear eye pieces from the existing non-transparent eyes? I also want to put in LEDs so any help from anyone would be really appreciated. Thanks so much! Also, great video as always, ItsAGunpla.
Make a mold of the original piece there are MANY ways to do it, most people use green stuff, I have worked with silicone rubbers half my life at this point so I am most comfortable with those. Keep in mind this will add a minimum investment of 100 dollars to your build buying mold material's and clear resins also you will need the proper safety equipment. The new clear resin i am working with made me sick as a dog smelling it for just a few seconds before I put my mask on lol.
lmao people who complain about other builders only doing clean stuff that's so lame of them, weathered looks nice but it's so much extra work, you really gotta WANT TO do it or else it will feel like a chore. clean builds are imo nicer anyway, i wanna see the robot fresh out of assembly save weathering for after the kit gets old and floppy imo
Love the work on these kits, but the fact that you've never noticed the whole Newtype thing makes me question things. NewtypeHQ made a charity for the ADL and have sold BLM decals during last year's "festival of love" and you never spoke of it. Maybe you never noticed and I'm just overthinking but I just wanted to put it out there regardless. And yeah I know they're from California, but still.
broke: oh my god clean builds are trash you didnt weather it enough!! woke: you painted the fingers red instead of white the whole thing is invalidated dislike jokes aside, the leo is a little shorter than the tallgeese, so for proper scaling it isnt JUST a part swap, BUUUT, if they can make a Sinanju RG out of the gundam MKII's frame, or more relevantly, the Kyrios MG with the same frame as the dynames MG, they can definintely do SOMETHING about that.

I don't completely rule them out, but they're the last place I look. Plus, majority of the time, they're sold out of what I want anyways
I like your reviews because you’re the only reviewer on the platform who is completely honest regardless of what others think

@@ItsAGunpla you can say that again as much as I would love to get some of these kits but I don't have the money to spare for this stuff.
