Logan Roy in bi lighting is insane

I always appreciate how well u analyze and understand roman; this is suprisingly rare for most reactors, they often wave him off as a brat and not much else
For sure! I've come to learn that flawed/antagonistic type characters often have reasons/trauma that have led them down the path they are on. It's usually a front/wall or a projection of their own insecurities. I do it myself constantly by turning my traumas into jokes and comedic fodder or by being extremely sarcastic lol
The music at the end is sublime, one of my favorite tracks of this season

Willa being an overshadowed character is so true. Throwback to one of her best moments being in s2 when she reworked the eulogy that Connor gave at Mo's funeral once she saw that journo wanted to run a smear campaign. really great last minute under pressure thinking
I think an under-examined aspect of Connor is the amount of distance he's had from Logan compared to the other three Roys. It's mentioned at the end of last season that young Connor went 3yrs without seeing his dad. Coupled with the seemingly forced commitment of his mom (Kendall mentions it at 50:20), Connor must really value the limited time he gets to spend with his only parent.
When Connor was a young adult, he was likely separate from both his parents, trying to figure out how to navigate life with no responsibilities but also no real guidance; not to mention a ton of trauma. It seems like he's put a lot of effort into trying to expand his scope, albeit always from a spoiled privileged perspective. Meanwhile, the three younger siblings were all being groomed for the big job. They spent every minute under Logan's shadow, they got handed cushy executive positions and board seats, and on the eve of Connor's wedding they've stolen the show and have their father's undivided attention. And all they want to do is exploit the situation for their own benefit.
He's had to watch as the siblings squabble over who gets to be Dad's favorite. Connor never asks to be Dad's favorite, he just wants to be taken seriously-to be considered. He never demands to be the one calling the shots, he's just hoping to be looped-in. It's totally understandable why he views the other three as greedy and attention-hungry from his perspective.
I cannot wait to see your takes on the rest of this amazing series!!!!
My theory is that Connor’s mom really loved him, and he’s the only one of the siblings that knows what unconditional parental love feels like. He’s not fooled by Logan, he knows that Dad’s love is a mirage, so there’s no incentive to fight for it. The younger kids still think there’s some secret treasure locked up in that vault but Connor knows better.

That scene in the karaoke room is still one of my favorites out of the entire show. It's done so well, everyone showed up to play.
i’m so glad this ep brought to conversation just how deep these character’s psyches go and as a viewer being able to see that in plain sight and truly understand how each of them feel in certain moments is a testament to the brilliant writing. i’m also glad it was brought up now because it is so expertly shown in the next episode 🙏🏽

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it to you, but this entire season takes place over the span of about two weeks, so each new episode takes place the day after the one before it. Just something to keep in mind as you go through the next 8 episodes.
