Mam I recall my mother preparation for Anarasa which is traditional recipe for we Maharashtrians. You can try following: after adding sugar to the rice flour make big balls and keep them aside. She used to add bit of ripe banana in the dough. Then take small ball of the dough and sprinkle some khas khas on Chakla and put anarsa ball on khas khas to make anarsa. Finally on one side there must be khas khas. Then slow fry in ghee with khas Khas side up. Keep tossing ghee and beautiful jali should form. Fry till the base side turns little golden brown. Take them out on paper towels and serve dipped in hot milk or Basundi. Other balance pieces can be stored for one week. They must be crispy to eat. Anarsa are more delicious this way.

My Mom used to make this by same process but instead of sugar she used to make it with gud which ferments fast n tests very good n u can preserve without refrigerator.
