i think leth underestimates how much ranks have improved, im not champ anymore im gc1 but he talks like its champ 3 years ago, todays champ is pretty solid mechanically but they lack game sense which can just be improved overtime, if he had more games in champ he would realize that people do hit good shots pretty often but sometimes they get too ambitious and trigger happy resulting in goals for the opponent.

My game sense is pretty good and I have been GC in plenty of seasons but just keep struggling because my mechanics are and have been trash for years now 😂. Leth's champs whiff every other aerial. My diamond 2's air dribble carry from mid field, double off the backboard, ceiling shot with occasional flip resets. I just feel like I'm apparently playing a completely different game than all these RUclipsrs who make series like this.
honestly if you watch replays carefully of your d2 games you'd notice a lot of misplays. Also dont forget that because you are at that level so you may not know when something is wrong - people like leth could probably find a fault in baso every single play below champ

You cant forget that leth has experience you don't, throughout the series you can see from time to time people trying to go for stuff, only to be shut down by leth's team quite quickly. You just arent able to perform to the ability and with the knowledge of leth. It only looks like his champs are bad because he knows exactly how to deal with them. He talks about it in one of his vids.

You’re right, but hesitation is a killer especially as you continue to rank up. Game speed is important too, in 2’s as first man usually just going is best bc then you’ll force and your tm8 will get it.

I'm not talking about hesitation when you don't know what to do with the ball so you panic wiff or make a bad hit. I'm talking about intentionally slowing the play down with a slower controlled hit because a faster hit would result in a worse play overall. This is something you need to do at every rank in my opinion. Good example from today in a 3s game. Tm8-A and I were past mid and tm8-A's 50/50 resulted in the ball going to our side. Tm8-B was 3rd man and got to the ball (great on his part). However rather then controlling the ball and giving tm8-A and I the chance to get back into the play, he boomed it back to the other side of the field immediately. The problem with this is when the ball crosses mid field like that, both tm8-A and I switched from offence to defense and turned around meaning you now have 5 cars facing the direction of our goal. Tm8-B;s hit ended up bouncing off the ceiling and giving orange the ball and they scored. Even if tm8-B had passed to myself or Tm8-A because of our positioning the best either one of us could do it try to redirect it (which they had a goalie to save), we could try to catch the ball (which gives them a chance to dunk us) or we could pass back to to tm8-B which runs the risk of sending the ball even further back into our side with no 3rd to cover. If tm8-B had caught the ball, took his time and controlled it; even if he lost it in a 50/50 we would have been back and in a much better position instead he put us in a doable but much more difficult/risker play.
I missed my chance to break into GC. I hit c3 div 4. And ever since then Ive been stuck in c1.Its proof of how AWFUL mmr distribution has gotten and rank overall. It goes to show that todays average champ 2-3 player would be a 1550+ GC from 2019/2018
I was also thinking like this before but its not that the ranks are broken its just that you fell behind the general improvement of the ranks if you played more you would catch up with skill you just need to be ahead of the curve to rank up i played for 2 years in champ 2 thinking the game is broken it was just that everyone was improving besides me so i was getting better but everyone alse also was. And grinding is a big thing i probably couldve reached gc back then but i didnt bother bcs you sometimes get stuck in a loop where you lose 2 games and then win 2 games and repeat

2015 is a long time and not everyone wants to or can play the game enough to get SSL, I first played in 2017 and I barely had opportunities to play since I didn’t have a pc or console, my cousin had an Xbox which is what I played on. I only got a full setup in 2022 and I finally hit gc last season in 2v2 (season 13) with 1200h playtime
I’m the same as that guy at the end. I started in 2015 but was quite young and didn’t play online. But got properly into the game a few years ago and am reaching diamond now
Anr red GC Title is after the free to play update, where they reset seasons and that is when they added SSL as well. Any gold GC title is pre-free to play and OG. This was a newer GC.
Man I was watching Copenhagen and then came here and it's wild how much faster RLCS is. I know it's nothing new but the stark contrast like that is crazy.
Imo just watching the other players is the best thing to do. Pay attention when your tm8 needs backup(if he’s boosting/flipping away from the ball or circles behind you), pay attention when the opponents hit the ball too far away to maintain control. Nothing wrong with waiting as long as you keep yourself close enough to jump in when an opening occurs.
Man idk but i feel so different since i play EU servers and those guys have gc titles in plat 3 - dia 3 and destroying everyone in their path.... much faster gameplay, much more demo and bump attempts, more aerials, flip resets, pass plays..... and all of that starts in (or around) plat 3 The funniest thing is that me and my friends are around c2-c3 level (gameplay wise) and we get obliterated by those guys in dia 2-3. Yeah I get that. For some reason the champ gameplay on NA servers is not the same as on EU servers. On EU servers the gameplay seems faster and more mechanical than on NA servers. Obviosly there is some bias with my observations, because I play on EU servers, but I can't be the only one who noticed that.
Leth if i am correct SSL became a rank when Rocket league became a free to play game. So correct me if i am wrong but that was when Epic games took over. But the red GC title is from the Original season 5.
Leth to answer your grand champion question, the red title is always a free to play title, and it will always have an "S" that stands for "Season". Any Legacy grand champion title is yellow, and says "Season", followed by the season number, and grand champion. And, when free to play dropped, they added SSL at the same time they changed the grand champion titles
Man, I've been playing since 2016, 3,300 hours on steam. This season I ranked into D2 in 3s. I have decent mechanics, I'm much consistently better at 2s than 3s. But I find myself struggling to get back to C1 in 3s solo. I feel like I'm constantly stuck in games with team mates making back passes right in front of the net while the other team of 3 consists of a GC3, D2, and a Plat 2. And the GC3 is constantly flip resetting on us because no one is confident enough to challenge in the air or drive up the back board. I used to get C1 in 3s every season, but I feel like I'm being trolled this season. Back in the old S12, I almost hit C2, but I've been falling backwards since then, even though I just kept playing more.
Why is it in my ranked games in champ 1 in 2’s I always have people air dribbling full field and flip resetting but on any rtssl video the same rank hardly leaves the ground?
I'm forever a casual player. Occasionally hit up ranked games. I hit GC in the Original seasons and that was good enough for me. It hasn't been the same since the new SSL rank dropped. First they took away crates. Then they took away trading. Still not over that. My only reason for pushing up Rank so high back then was to meet all my favorite pro's. All of which have systematically retired since then. New pro's are cool and all, but the energy isn't the same. I'm mostly just glad I was able to be there during prime time Rocket League. It was the Call of Duty equivalent of being there for MW2, MW3, Black Ops, and Black Ops 2. Everything else hasn't felt the same. Maybe I'm just crazy and there is no difference at all lol. Pressing X to doubt tho.
The only real difference is the feeling around the game, and I would argue a lot of that (at least for me) is just nostalgia, not really missing how the game was but how I felt back then, a lot of the time that’s why people have these “I miss the old XYZ”. It’s not that they miss what it was, they miss the time period
I’ve been peaking hard champ 2 barely champ 3 for almost 3 years now. Super frustrating 🥲 I’ve recently been practicing my mechanics more and it’s been helping me not tank down to like diamond 3 anymore. But I almost only solo queue, and I think that’s where the problem some in. There’s no consistency in teammates, and you have to spend half the game learning to adapt to people’s play styles.

Also as for someone that has the est. 2015 title some people played on free weekends(game trial) in 2015-2017 that xbox had wnd i believe ps+ had it as a free game in 2016 so many people might have played it once or twice back then or some people made it far back then and life caught up with them and they couldnt play as much

im champ 1 in South Africa and have been for a while - we have so many smurfs in sa because we cant find any games after like c2 and already few games at champ so we have everything from a crazy good reset musty opponents in champ to people who cant seem to touch the ball its incredibly frustrating and all other servers ping over 180 the fame is utterly unreadable with opponents who have no consistency at all
Idk but if feel like the reality is that many players are stuck in champ. So in your games you‘ll very kften be matched with gc level opponents who have the skillset of gcs but just not the time or motivation to grind ranked and actually go as high as they can. On the other hand we havethw Diamonds who, despite their inability to perform actually win a few game shere and there and manage to not derank. So you‘ll be matched up with a diamon level player, playing vs at lest one, if not 2 gcs/gc level players. Oh and also there‘s quite a lot of 2 stacks of like buddies who‘ll decide to randomly play ranked so that means they are obviously in comms and so you‘ll loose even if you have a normal champ m8, a few mistakes here and there and they just outplay one guy always so its essentially a 2v1 and that’s definitely a loss. The sad part is that its unfeasible for 90% of players to actually climb out of champ because the ammount of hours you‘d need to put in with all the ups and downs untill you finally reach gc is just not worth it or not possible for so many players who dont have no other duties than playing rl for 8-10 hours each day. And yes you ofc can try and find some random dude off a discord server to play but either he‘s absolutely trash and one of those diamonds or he expects you to be able to be on 24/7 like he is or leaves after a couple games bc his gc/ssl level friend gave in decided to boost him this season or whatever tf.
I feel like the mechanics are just that much more demanding and the game is just that much faster/relying on better touches that brain function goes out the window until you pass the skill check

Leth if i am correct SSL became a rank when Rocket league became a free to play game. So correct me if i am wrong but that was when Epic games took over. But the red GC title is from the Original season 5.

Leth to answer your grand champion question, the red title is always a free to play title, and it will always have an "S" that stands for "Season". Any Legacy grand champion title is yellow, and says "Season", followed by the season number, and grand champion. And, when free to play dropped, they added SSL at the same time they changed the grand champion titles
One more thing, do you have any advice to help me make the final push to GC in twos? I am champion 3 at the moment
Man, I've been playing since 2016, 3,300 hours on steam. This season I ranked into D2 in 3s. I have decent mechanics, I'm much consistently better at 2s than 3s. But I find myself struggling to get back to C1 in 3s solo. I feel like I'm constantly stuck in games with team mates making back passes right in front of the net while the other team of 3 consists of a GC3, D2, and a Plat 2. And the GC3 is constantly flip resetting on us because no one is confident enough to challenge in the air or drive up the back board. I used to get C1 in 3s every season, but I feel like I'm being trolled this season. Back in the old S12, I almost hit C2, but I've been falling backwards since then, even though I just kept playing more.
I took some time off RUclips, and Leth, I can honestly say that your voice has gotten deeper.

Why is it in my ranked games in champ 1 in 2’s I always have people air dribbling full field and flip resetting but on any rtssl video the same rank hardly leaves the ground?
Since the seasons reset, GC titles have been red. Previously they were gold. That guy is GC from the new season 5.
I'm forever a casual player. Occasionally hit up ranked games. I hit GC in the Original seasons and that was good enough for me. It hasn't been the same since the new SSL rank dropped. First they took away crates. Then they took away trading. Still not over that. My only reason for pushing up Rank so high back then was to meet all my favorite pro's. All of which have systematically retired since then. New pro's are cool and all, but the energy isn't the same. I'm mostly just glad I was able to be there during prime time Rocket League. It was the Call of Duty equivalent of being there for MW2, MW3, Black Ops, and Black Ops 2. Everything else hasn't felt the same. Maybe I'm just crazy and there is no difference at all lol. Pressing X to doubt tho.
The only real difference is the feeling around the game, and I would argue a lot of that (at least for me) is just nostalgia, not really missing how the game was but how I felt back then, a lot of the time that’s why people have these “I miss the old XYZ”. It’s not that they miss what it was, they miss the time period
I’ve been peaking hard champ 2 barely champ 3 for almost 3 years now. Super frustrating 🥲 I’ve recently been practicing my mechanics more and it’s been helping me not tank down to like diamond 3 anymore. But I almost only solo queue, and I think that’s where the problem some in. There’s no consistency in teammates, and you have to spend half the game learning to adapt to people’s play styles.

btw in the second game your teammate wrote okay bec he saw the GC title of the opponent (in diamond) and its gc season 13 so it was like 2 weeks ago that he got it... no wonder why he said okay. I would aswell haha

Old GC tags are yellow, new one (after seasons reset) are red
Also as for someone that has the est. 2015 title some people played on free weekends(game trial) in 2015-2017 that xbox had wnd i believe ps+ had it as a free game in 2016 so many people might have played it once or twice back then or some people made it far back then and life caught up with them and they couldnt play as much
I was high C2 last season, now I am stuck in low C1, it's pretty infuriating.
My teammates get mad at me for letting them ball chase and start saying actually attack and then when I do they get mad at me for attacking and not letting them get the ball once… Lol what do you want me to do.
im champ 1 in South Africa and have been for a while - we have so many smurfs in sa because we cant find any games after like c2 and already few games at champ so we have everything from a crazy good reset musty opponents in champ to people who cant seem to touch the ball its incredibly frustrating and all other servers ping over 180 the fame is utterly unreadable with opponents who have no consistency at all

Idk but if feel like the reality is that many players are stuck in champ. So in your games you‘ll very kften be matched with gc level opponents who have the skillset of gcs but just not the time or motivation to grind ranked and actually go as high as they can. On the other hand we havethw Diamonds who, despite their inability to perform actually win a few game shere and there and manage to not derank. So you‘ll be matched up with a diamon level player, playing vs at lest one, if not 2 gcs/gc level players. Oh and also there‘s quite a lot of 2 stacks of like buddies who‘ll decide to randomly play ranked so that means they are obviously in comms and so you‘ll loose even if you have a normal champ m8, a few mistakes here and there and they just outplay one guy always so its essentially a 2v1 and that’s definitely a loss. The sad part is that its unfeasible for 90% of players to actually climb out of champ because the ammount of hours you‘d need to put in with all the ups and downs untill you finally reach gc is just not worth it or not possible for so many players who dont have no other duties than playing rl for 8-10 hours each day. And yes you ofc can try and find some random dude off a discord server to play but either he‘s absolutely trash and one of those diamonds or he expects you to be able to be on 24/7 like he is or leaves after a couple games bc his gc/ssl level friend gave in decided to boost him this season or whatever tf.
