What to do in the DOLOMITES in MARCH: Motorhome trip through the Italian ALPS

Join us for the fifth episode of our motorhome series through Europe, specifically the majestic Dolomites in northeastern Italy.
What to do in the Dolomites out of season? Initially planned as an adventure through the impressive mountains of the Italian Alps, our trip took an unexpected turn due to the cold weather and a few problems. Although it's spring, the cold in the mountains is intense and the weather is unpredictable. So what to do in the Dolomites with bad weather and in low season? Well, what started out as a dose of disappointment quickly turned into admiration as we explored many incredible sights and breathtaking frozen lakes, such as the famous Lake Braies (Pragser Wildsee) and Lake Dobbiaco (Toblacher See). We also visited the charming venue for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, Cortina d'Ampezzo, and other lesser-known places such as Alleghe, Val di Funes and Lago di Landro (Dürrensee). Despite being a common day trip from Venice, the Dolomites have a lot to offer and are worthy of a more days itinerary.
