For some reason this is the one that resonates with me most. I first heard it lying in my boyfriend's student bedroom with the rain on the window and that kind of soft light you get from lamps at night. Since then I've started on anti-depressants and I think I get what this song means. Not that the pills don't work, but that unless you want to change they'll do nothing for you. Fucking love this whole album.

I think most people resonating with this song have distraught lives. Maybe the guys who disliked it aren't trying to find their way through an abyss like some of us others :)

Listening to this and the streetlight manifesto version are so different one of my favorite songs ever how can a man do this he is just so talented
It's crazy how different they are. Same words, same context, but the message is so different. Never been on any meds, but both songs speak to me. This one tho, has a bleakness that's so unique.
I absolutely love how the Toh Kay and Streetlight version switch up which parts are the chorus and outro lines.
Also, I just noticed that this chorus sings the first line (backup in the Streetlight version) and ends with the last word of the main vocals ( 2nd line)

Out of the songs I've listened to so far from this album (admittedly only The Three Of Us and Toe to Toe) this one is by far the best. Not that the others aren't amazing: this one is just HOLYOMGROFLMAOWTFBBQ amazing.

I was actually surprised this album lasted as long on spotify as it did. There was an odd period where it wasn't visible from under Toh Kay's album, but could still be searched for and played.
Where has the toh kay version of this been all my life!? I didnt even know that toh kay did anything more than streetlight lullabies that are on spotify. I wonder if he has this on spotify too, oh i do really hope.

Are you high? SLM is furious with Victory and finally fulfilled their contract and quit the label. If you want to support SLM or Toh Kay, buy it from the RISC store.
the download link is also in the description; however, downloading it from piratebay or mediafire won't make the physical copies that were supposed to arrive w/ pre-order bundles come any sooner.

I ordered my bundle from the RISC store, and I received that bundle; however, because of Victory, I don't have the CDs yet.
But, I don't think Caroline was hinting at buying the bundle/cds from Victory, per se.

I don't think she means to buy from victory, but instead to rally together to get everything that was already preordered that Victory Records won't send.

I must admit, "The Hand that Thieves" may be the better of the two versions. I love the subtle nature of Tomas' acoustic sessions.
Lyrically superior as well.
This album NEEDS to see the light of day and to be put into that paying hands that demand it.
Seeing as how my Streetlight Manifesto pre-order has yet to arrive (and I pre-ordered this nearly 6 months ago when it was announced), I am skeptical that I may ever receive the sup posed companion Toh Kay album.
This saddens me deeply. :^(
As I do pay for Spotify, I have no regrets listening to Streetlight's 'The Hands that Thieve' on there even if I don't have my hard copy.

I got the hoodie and a poster, but RISC didn't send me either C.D I am considering it as theft an taking legal action against them,which we all should do artists make covers of other artists songs and it's okay but the artist who made his own music can't re make it on another C.D? THat's bullshit and victory is taking out it's frustration on the people while taking their money and not giving anything in return, I payed 80 bucks for two C.D;s and got neither.

Are VR holding back items from people who have paid for them? Isn't that illegal? You people should be able to cancel your order then and get your cash back (which is better than getting the stuff and supporting vampire, i mean, victory records?)
