No matter how little I cared for Munakata, this scene always tore out my heart. It's honestly so tragic thinking about the ending these three got. This is one of the better storylines for dr3
And Munakata did lost both at this moment , the girl he loved she was dead long ago replaced by a rotten broken version of herself (I consider Chisa a little dead the moment when Mukuro brainwashed her, since after she was no longer herself) and his best friend ( who he hurt himself ) whom until the end he did not never knew Juzo real feelings .... I do not know if in the end it's Juzo's redemption or Munakata's punishment ....
Munakata didn't deserve punishment he was just doing what he thought was right he's a bit like nagito in that regard doing all the wrong things for all the right reasons
@James Holden: He still needed punishment. He wouldn’t have known what he was doing was wrong if he wasn’t punished. Same with Nagito, even if his deeds are good he shouldn’t blow up an island or try to kill everyone else
@@starstruck1864 you dont necessarily need punishment to learn better, Munakata wouldnt have been doing all this shit had not everything gone to shit. Punishment is for those who did wrong, not for those who failed to do right.
Blue Wolf By failing to do right, Munakata did fucked up shit. Is he supposed to go scot free after killing his friend and attempting murder on someone else? Even if he wouldn’t have done it before the Tragedy, the effects still had been done and he needed to know what he did was wrong so he wouldn’t do it again. The effects of the Tragedy are irreversible, as it is hard to come back from trauma. So he needs to go forward and learn his newly acquired morals are wrong
@@starstruck1864 Starstruck you ended up with my own point..? He needs to move foward with the knowledge that his morals where wrong, but not through punishment, the fact that his morals didnt bring hope are the consequences of his own actions and its what would taught him his lesson. Watching his best friend and long time love die after falling to despair wasnt what he "needed" in order to realize his mistakes, thats like saying Junko had to kill Chiaki in order for her friends to learn a lesson. Thats fucked up man. You dont learn lessons just by making someone go through the worst.
I'm still crying about this and I watched this when it was released holy shit Juzo deserves better 3 YEARS LATER AND I FUCKING REALIZED HIS LAST WORDS WERE "I LOVE YOU"
Notice that Juzo left the door open for Munakata to find him, it might be because he was dying but I also think it's because he remembers Munakata's forbidden action of opening doors. So in case Juzo wasn't able to pull the lever before dying from bleeding out, he still made sure that Munakata would still be saved to pull the lever himself to remove the bracelets. Juzo still loves Munakata so much after all this time, to pay attention and do anything to save him.
@Pirate_King 100 This may sound completely awful, but I wish they had the BALLS to actually kill off hina and kyoko. Would make this anime a lot more depressing than it already is that's for sure.
I really like this scene. It follows the themes Danganronpa well. Juzo made a dumb choice but a very human one. That choice haunted him. And made him hostile towards Makoto who did the right things and ended Junko. But in the end he still cared about Munakata. Even after the bitterness of being betrayed by him. So much he gathered just enough strength for the hope Munakata would live. And it worked. But he'll never know for sure or that Munakata forgave him. Despite Munakata desperately wanting to tell him and apologize. Which is what is so tragic about the whole thing.
Has anyone figured out what Sakakura says for his last word? Some people say it's "munaka...", but it doesn't seem to fit his lip movement... I thought it could have been "omae" or "anata", but it's not that either...
Y’all don’t realize that junko’s blackmail was actually really scary for Juzo. First , coming from an lgbtq+ person, being outed is one of the scariest things that can happen. For the reason being you don’t know if the person will accept you. In Juzo’s case, Munakata’s opinion is the most valuable. And also, another thing y’all forget, is that Japan isn’t that welcoming to lgbt. So being outed as gay in Japan is really fucking scary. So if Juzo were to be outed, his career would end, Munakata who cares a lot about his own reputation, would abandon him, basically Juzo would live in a hell. Also he didn’t know the extent to Junko’s powers. Also junko being junko, probably had a backup plan just in case. So yeah. Juzo I love you my child.
Yeah. People need to stop pretending it would have been so easy for Juzo to just stop the apocalypse. She would have probably had a back up plan anyway.
Damn munakata really suffered the whole show think about it he was so focused on trying to rid the world of despair he ended up becoming victim to it and now all of his friends are dead because of it and now he has to deal with that forever knowing that the love of his life died because he wasn’t there enough and that his best friend died because he messed up and didn’t believe in him

結構ってか相当なやらかしばかりしてたしヘイトも散々買ったキャラだし自分も面白がってたけど、3アニメで1番盛り上がったのボクサーの再登場からこの最期までだと断言できるレベルでいいキャラではあった。
