I saw Muddy Waters when I was 15, 65 years ago. He introduced me to the blues, which I have loved ever since. Hail to you, Muddy. You can't get better than this track.
Simply impressive, my first cassete was a muddy waters tape, basically introduced me to Chicago blues, and other greats that were on that album as Otis Spann, Luther Johnson, etc
[Chorus] Sail on my little honey bee, [Bridge] You going to keep on sailing till you lose your happy home [Verse 1] I don't mind you sailing, but please don't sail so long All right little honey bee I hear a lot of buzzing, sound like my little honey bee[x2] She been all around the world making honey But now she is coming back home to me
I came here to listen to this great music because I read in Eric Clapton's autobiography, "I remember trying to match the bell-like tone achieved by Muddy Waters on his song 'Honey Bee'. It was the first time I ever got three strings together on my guitar. I had no technique, of course, and I just spent hours mimicking it."
Yes, I will sail back home.. soon..🐝❤😊 Sail on Sail on my little honey bee, sail on Sail on Sail on my little honey bee, sail on You gonna keep on sailing Till you lose your happy home Sail on Sail on my little honey bee, sail on Sail on Sail on my little honey bee, sail on I don't mind you sailing But please don't sail so long All right, little honey bee I hear a lotta buzzing Sound like my little honey bee I hear a lotta buzzing Sound like my little honey bee She been all around the world making honey But now she is coming back home to me…🐝🐝🐝🐝
Both are great. They play the blues with a different voice for their respective guitars as well as sing the blues with different voices for themselves.
@@michaelclark9762 B.B. King can’t even sing whilst playing.... can’t play slide , plays the same pattern over and over .... most overrated guitarist I’ve ever heard , even though I do recognise he’s sound is very beautiful and tasteful but my friend not even near Muddy Waters as Muddy was much more dynamic amazing singer , amazing notion of rhythm , and the most my friend Muddy could really play the slide and back then maybe he was the best slide guitarist for the era , my point is B.B. King still great but not and never will be at the level of muddy Waters and many many times I hear B.B. King as the king of the blues and that’s total blasphemy as Muddy Waters is the king of blues . However I do respect y’all opinions and thank you for commenting
@@chocodiledundee1 I respectfully disagree. B.B. sang with an authority few other bluesmen had and was, in my opinion a far better vocalist than guitarist. His voice faded a bit as he passed age 70 and was greatly diminished in his 80s, but go back and listen to him in his prime in the 1950s-80s. As far as his guitar playing goes, he played Lucille like a singing partner in a way that no one before him had. He gave her a solo voice and left the rhythm to his horn line in the early years and to his rhythm guitarists in later years. He toured incessantly often playing 330+ gigs a year for nigh on four decades before he "slowed down" to "only" 250 dates a year. While Muddy spent much of his career slumming on the South Side and West Side of Chi-land B.B. was taking the blues to the world. THAT'S why he was crowned the King of the Blues.
A single worker honey bee dies after about a month or two. . . Billions of honey bees will too. The queen bee lives for 2 or 3 years . Worker bees make honey and wax. The queen bee produces worker bees. Pollination is a by product sold to farmers by bee keepers. Does the Brazilian wax and honey produced by immigrant bees make better by product pollination ?
Muddy water was a bad ass blues man.
Muddy was such a powerhouse slide guitarist.
that voice and slide, there is no equal

Those guitar notes go straight through the soul

I was so fortunate to have seen Muddy several times in the 60’s 70’s and early 80’s.
This may be the best performance of all time.
1:44 gave me goosebumps
Saw him in the 70s with Big Momma Thorton and George Harmonica. It was bliss

muddy waters had a baby and they named it rock and roll
More like Fats Domino and Chuck Berry had a baby that was named Rock & Roll.
It's 2023, and the blues will never be old to me, where do you think rock and roll came from
This day and age it's the only way to chill.
Elmore James &

The real deal, period!
I don’t mean to be nasty ... but I’ve never got all the fuzz about B.B.King , Man Muddy Waters is “THE MAN” of the blues in so many levels !
Just a different story sir
Hey.... to each, his own.

Honey Bee...
Paul Oscher on harp
fuck yeah
0:09 Muddy playing that guitar like that shit hurts his fingers 😭😭
Muddy had one lick but it was a good one!
All he needed
They didn't call him the Mud Doctor for nothing!!!!
Anton: His tone on the purely slide notes is similar to Robert Nighthawk's. Not to disrespect either of them. Muddy is a bit more slashing.
sorry for the sting you the honey is sweet, thank you,
No wonder Jimmy Page revered Muddy Waters
Keith Richards and Mick Jagger also consider him one of their biggest influences
who cares.
@@TheSRC88 Jimi too
