I am an engineer and i didn't get his point. Concrete design guarantees 100 years of life. The debate is based on symbolism. It is a question of Modernism vs cultural preservation. If the people wanted to preserve the culture they could have restored it using the old techniques. If Dhara is supposed to now be a symbol of new modern nepal then they should have made it with the latest technology , with earthquake resistant design and not just simple concrete.
It is my 1st time watching this podcast. Why is the interviewer so uninterested? His attitude was the same in the previous Nizgad episode too. If you don't have anything to ask or add fine but I'd appreciate it if you could at least pay attention.
