Hey everybody. Today we're going to be going over and showing you how to install the EcoHitch Hidden front mount trailer hitch here on our 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. So here's what our trailer hitch is going to look like installed here. The majority of it is actually going to be tucked up behind our front bumper facia here. So the only thing we're really going to be seeing is the actual receiver tube. Now, with this hidden install, obviously we're going to get the best overall appearance, but we're also not going to reduce our ground clearance near as much.
It actually doesn't even stick down below this plastic panel here so it won't be reducing our ground clearance at all.So a front mount trailer hitch receiver can be used for a number of different things. Probably the most common purpose would be to help position a trailer. If we have a tight parking space we need to park our trailer in, or we need better help maneuvering our trailer in the campground, the front mount trailer hitch is going to be an excellent option for that. Something else a lot of people use them for as well is if we want to mount a winch on the front of our truck here. We don't have a grill guard with any sort of mounting integrated into it.
So we actually sell some winch mounting plates that'll fit perfectly inside this two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, allowing us to utilize a winch on the front of our truck. So another common use of a front mount trailer hitch here is going to be for a snow plow. Now we have plenty of snowplows. It'll be an excellent option here for this 2500 that'll fit directly into the two inch by two inch receiver tube opening. So if you are planning on using it for pushing some snow, make sure you check out all of our snowplow selection. So if we are going to be using our trailer hitch for a front mounted winch, keep in mind, we have a 10,000 pound line pull rating, so it's going to be plenty enough to help your buddy out of the ditch or get yourself out of the ditch. We're also going to have a thousand pound tongue weight rating.
So pretty much, no matter how heavy your trailer is, you're probably going to be able to utilize the front mount hitch to help maneuver it around. You just have to make sure the fully loaded tongue weight of our trailer does not exceed this thousand pound rating. So on the side of our trailer hitch receiver here, we're going to see we have a standard five-eighths inch diameter hitch pin and clip. Keep in mind, this is going to be sold separately, but this is what we're going to use to secure our ball mount if we're using it to maneuver a trailer or a winch plate, if we're going to be using it for a front mounted winch.A few things that set EcoHitch apart from their competitors is number one, where they're going to be using recycled steel. So definitely going to be environmental friendly options. And they're also made right here in the USA so you know that you're getting a quality well-made product. So now, we have a couple of measurements here for you.
They're going to help you when you're selecting your hitch mounted accessories. The first one we're going to measure from the ground to the top inside edge of the receiver tube. That'll be useful when you're selecting your ball mount. That's going to be 15 and a half inches. And then lastly, we have the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outside edge of the bumper there. That will be useful when you're selecting your hitch mounted accessories, such as a bike rack, cargo carrier. That way we can ensure that while they're in the stowed position, they don't contact the bumper. It looks like you got about an inch and a half there, so you shouldn't have any issues with that.So in regards to installation, it's pretty simple and straightforward. We do have to take off a couple panels here, but nothing's particularly difficult, just going to take it a little bit of time. We actually don't need to do any drilling into the truck either. There will be some minor trimming, which you can't really see once done so, but aside from that, it's definitely something you guys can do at home by yourself. Now let's go ahead and jump into installation now.So the first step of our installation today, we're going to take a seven millimeter socket. We're going to come to the front bumper facia of our vehicle here, this lower panel in particular. We're going to have eight screws we need to remove along the bottom side. So now we're going to come inside our bumper here directly behind the front bumper portion. If we look in about the center, we're going to see f

Thanks for the video! When I had first read the directions I was seriously considering taking the hitch back as they aren’t written very well. I watched your video no less than 10 times. I Didn’t get it all right the first time, but we are all set now. Takes longer than one might expect when you don’t have a lift. The double sided tape didn’t work well for me. Used lots of duct tape and screw driver to hold the spacer in place while reinstalling the tow hooks.

Why didn't you reinstall the front tow hooks?

Because it wouldn't be possible to install the hitch with them in place, the tow hooks occupy the same space where the hitch installs. Hope that helps explain things!

The video is ok until near the end - it is not according to the instructions. No need to take out the tow hooks and then you have to take the bolts back out out and reinsert the hooks. Totally unnecessary Follow the written instructions save yourself a lot of time. He needs to take more time toward the end to give you clear instructions as they are written. This video needs to be redone.

He did miss showing the reinstallation of the tow hooks. They will reinstall when the new bolts are put in place for the spacer bracket. We apologize for this.
