SYRIA: Assad's torture prison! “Anger and despair!” Relatives search prison morgue
After the fall of Syrian ruler Bashar al-Assad, activists want to continue to track down secret prisons of the fallen government. An application has been submitted to the United Nations for this purpose, the head of the White Helmets, Raid al-Saleh, announced on Platform X.
According to this, Russia should exert pressure on the ousted long-term ruler to hand over the locations of Syrian secret prisons and lists with the names of the detainees. Assad and his family were granted asylum in Russia following his overthrow in Syria.
“The indescribable brutality and criminality of the Assad regime, which spreads suffering and oppression through killings, arrests and torture, must come to an end,” wrote Al-Saleh.
