Russia did not get defeated militarily in Syria, but politically. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few years - if Syria descends into violence, Russia still has Assad in its back pocket should they wish to fund a faction in such a civil war.
@HagueEscapee Russia is making small gains at enormous costs in men and material. In many areas, they have to make infantry only attacks as they are short of armoured vehicles. These are almost always at extreme cost in lives. in fact, in many cases, they are suicide missions. Strategically, Russia is losing. The much vaunted strategic weapons are nowhere near as successful as Russia claims. Russian long-term storage areas storage areas are severely depleted. Russian military manpower is severely depleted. Hence, Russia is bringing in North Korean troops. In terms of territory, Russia holds much less of Ukraine than it did six months into its invasion. Russia has pulled its navy back from the Western Black Sea. The Baltic, with the accession of two new members to NATO, is now a NATO lake. Russia ally Assad has fallen from power. This has the potential to destroy Russias strategy in the Middle East and Africa. Russias remaining main ally in the Middle East has had its power severely curtailed by the fall of Assad. There is even the possibility of an uprising in Iran against the government. In Ukraine, apart from Western long-range weapons, there is the development of long-range Ukranian made strategic weaponry. More and more of these are starting to appear. More and more attacks on Russian strategic targets will happen over the next months. Crimea is in severe danger. Russian occupied Zaphorizia is in danger. The Russian economy is in serious trouble, even Putin has admitted that. It is getting worse. Look at the statements by Nabulina (Russian central bank). There are reports that rationing is about to be introduced in Russia. Watch the Chinese over the next months/years. They have their own plans. I could go on, but I can't be bothered
Don't lie too much. The Russians did not fight there in the first place, they were there only in the name of the small government asking them to do so, and they did not sit there and engage in dialogue like you.
The Soviets fought in Afghanistan between 1979 and 1989, the direct result was the collapse of the Soviet Union. The CIA supplied the afghan Mujahedin with weapons, most prominentely stinger rockets, from it's headquarters in Peshawar, Pakistan - thus creating the basis for the rise of the Taliban.
They have nowhere to rush, unlike the Americans, who fled Afghanistan so quickly that they left behind not only tens of billions of dollars in weapons, but also civilian personnel falling from the landing gear of American Air Force aircraft. 🤣🤣
Just imaging the sort of torture that would lead a man to become non-verbal and not being able to communicate makes ME feel sick. Now imagine how his siblings feel, his mother, his father, a possible spouse, or even children. This sort of evil is sickening. And ANYONE who dares claim that Assad was the better alternative deserves to enter one of these facilities to see if they're willing to continue with that line.
On his wrist you can see that he has a scar. A clear scar on his wrist. He must have been very desperate at the time. The young man suffered amnesia because of the ordeal. The abuse must have been extreme for him not to remember his name. Then there were the people around him who saw him as a son or brother. He speaks with his eyes because his mouth is unable to speak. Only Assad can be capable of something so vile and no, he was not the better choice. He was the most evil in man. He held a knife to his sister-in-law's neck when she contradicted him.
@bryans5878 First of all, thank God that neither you nor I have lost a family member is such a traumatic way. I hear stories of those who lose loved ones search for them in every face in a crowd, mistaking them multiple times for the wrong person. Now imagine in a situation were they're aware that their loved one went through years of torture and starvation which physically changes people.....these desperate people searching for their loved ones can very easily mistake them for others especially if they're non verbal.
@@dahasolomon7314 Fair point. I can imagine that if you haven’t seen a family member in over five years, they might look quite different. Combined with their inability to communicate, the long periods of uncertainty for those searching for missing loved ones, and a sense of desperation, it’s understandable how someone might mistakenly believe they’ve recognized them. However, the two women in the video do seem to negotiate a little “you lost one son, I lost two sons”. You also need to consider that in those countries men are seen as more ‘desirable’ than women due to certain economic, social and cultural factors. Would there still be 100+ families claiming this person if he was a woman? I don’t know. I can’t shake the feeling that a part of those 100+ are claiming him for more opportunistic reasons, especially because he can’t verbally communicate and is in, what seems like, a state of acute stress.

WHy do over 100 families claim him like he's cattle though?
I can’t shake the feeling that a part of those 100+ are claiming him for more opportunistic reasons, especially because he can’t verbally communicate and is in, what seems like, a state of acute stress.

that it was no longer of any use. Nothing could be brought in for maintenance: Either obsolete scrap or completely destroyed.
