- Hi! Today I'd like to discuss with you the dark side of 'study aesthetics'. What do you think about it? Let me know in the comments down below!

I had the same problem at first. Back in high school I would spend hours making pretty notes. I would watch people on RUclips studying in "aesthetic" libraries or coffeeshops for HOURS. I consumed all of this study content but I wasn't really studying myself a bit.
And now that I'm in a university studying medicine, I got my priorities straight. Studying isn't always as beautiful as everyone makes it to be, and the main part of process isn't to look perfect and always have a cup of coffee or a book with a beautiful cover by your side lol
Studying means working your brains and actually struggle to understand/memorize/review the concepts you need to know
Now I only turn to "studytube" and Pinterest when I'm in need of motivation or inspiration to study. And you know, romanticizing actually helps a lot of times, just imagine you're a main character in a movie if it helps you lol
Well, I completely agree with you!
Sometimes I really like this atmosphere and all those beautiful pics etc. But sometimes there is too much of this content. And turning your brain on is way more important than looking good/smart and productive
that’s why I like chaotic academia more than dark🤙🏻🤙🏻
The main problem about the whole "study aesthetic" is actually quite similar to any other thing on the internet: not everything you see is real. There are always crumpled/torn papers, spilled coffee, cluttered spaces, and other not-so-aesthetic stuff behind the camera. Some people do this because they prefer to study in a neat, organized environment, while others do it purely for the "aesthetic".
I've been a Tumblr user for years and I can say it boosts my motivation to study whenever I see people posting their "study aesthetic" so perhaps it's all about how you perceive things. It helps me a lot to avoid procrastinating in general, but too much of it will surely cause burnout.
In conclusion, aesthetically pleasing or not, the main objective of studying is to learn.
PS. I just came across your channel through RUclips's recommendation, and now I will follow your channel! Good luck! 😊
Hi! Yeah, there are so many things "behind the scenes", and not all of them are nice. Getting knowledge is definitely the main goal of studying, and people shouldn't forget about it
Thank you for watching!
Think that we are misunderstanding what it's productivity and being that person who is enjoying the process of learning. Romantize your life means feel confortable and enjoy the things, but that doesn't mean spend hours trying to do a pinterest notes. It can help to have little fu and explore our creativity, as you say, something simple and tied is much better and faster, eventually, it'll looks better, even if you write with pencil (believe me).
Enjoying the process has different ways, for example, finding your right method for studying, taking it like a game (but not as relax as one real game), etc, not only taking beautiful notes and making an nonsense routine without a real porpuse. (sorry if my english is bad, I'm learning the language :c, if you can correct me something, I'd be so grateful)
GREAT VIDEO!!!!!!!
Hi! I am a language learner, too, so you are being pretty good at this! Thank you for leaving a comment, I agree with you about studying vs the way it looks and aesthetic aspect of it. Good luck with your English learning process!
Beautifully put. University and academia isn't as aesthetic / beautiful as people make it out to be. Romanticizing studying is a great motivator, though it can easily become counterproductive and overwhelming.
Great video, you got a new sub :)
personally i find that it helps me bc i don't have any motivation to study at all and literally just,, dont do homework etc, if i cant romaticize studying. but i also only look at others, n dont' run a blog where i post my own notes bc they r way messier
I am a sucker for pretty notes, but I usually do that after I type all the notes first. I am very much a visual learner and love seeing pretty colors, and fun aesthetic photos! It makes the process way more enjoyable and easy for me. Unless it's math lmao. I also really think that it depends on the type of learner someone is. But yes the learning process is not all sunshine and rainbows.
you look and sound so beautiful, and ironically straight out of a dark academia novel. You made some great points though! I unfornutaly get distracted by "romanticising" my studies a lot. Sometimes it needs to be unglamorous, minimal and straight to the point rather than pretty.
I don’t always look like “that girl” or dark academia lover, and that was the point 😅 Most days of my life I seat at home with a hair bun and old t-shirt and that’s FINE. Our appearance says nothing about our education/ intelligence and so on
Thank you for watching!
thnks this helped me a lot
