I’m planning to do the summer program in Japan, I’ve been studying for almost 4 years of Japanese, this is my last hope as an highschool senior student to achieve my goals of returning to japan and experience it with knowledge of more japan and it’s culture.
I’m planning on do the fall program. I mostly want to do it because it’s my senior year in high school n idk what to in life. but my problem is mostly moneyyy
thanks for sharing your reflections about your experience! I’m going with CIEE as a senior in college to London and Rome so I always enjoy hear other students experiences. I fly out tonight!!!
Have actually done the CIEE TEFL and have two years teaching in Thailand at a University near Bangkok (Thanyaburi - R.M.U.T.T. ). Have had limited experience with their competitors. XploreAsia seemed more responsive. Greenheart was difficult to get a hold of CIEE did respond when I expressed interest in another Teach in Thailand. Even the university that I worked at expressed interest in me coming back outside of a program). I absolutely loved my time in Thailand! Even after breaking my arm in a motorcycle accident. Be sure to get involved in a program that offers decent travel insurance! Or find your own travel insurance! Hospitals in Thailand seemed decent especially the closer you are to large metro areas! Plus hospitals in Thailand generally have staff that speak understandable English!
I got accepted to study abroad in Madrid, Spain but I’m worried that people might make fun of my Spanish considering the fact that I speak ‘Latin American’ Spanish and not Spanish from Spain 😞
honestly i think people will appreciate your *dialect* -- i am from Mexico and when I went to Uruguay, I found that most people reacted positively to it! i think in general, Hispanics are welcoming so if this is the only thing stopping you from going, i would do it! :)
Hi I have a question does every high school in the US allow for us to become an exchange student? I emailed my counselor and they said that I couldn’t do it through my district. What does this mean?
Did you mention that you were doing it through a program? Because it might be that your counselor thinks your trying to do it through your district not through ciee or any other program.
Hey sorry to bother I have been trying to find more about CIEE High school in USA but I can't find any information about the cost, by any chance do you know something more about it
How do you get into CIEE? Is it hard to get accepted into a program? I applied to go to Spain for the summer and I want to know if I should apply to multiple programs
I got offered to go for summer 2021 (since 2020 got cancelled) on a scholarship but I'm facing a dilemma seeing as the current situation is so unpredictable. I don't wanna drop so much money into this program and have it get cancelled last minute. Plus I don't even know if anyone else is going. ;;
i think that by that point, the vaccine will be developed and hopefully shared with the general population here and abroad - if you are very sure about studying in high school rather than later on in (e.g. in college/post-grad life) then i would do it! studying abroad opens up your mind in a super unique way. hope that helps xx
@@adeoyechristania637 Because of the pandemic. Also they wanted me to pay $600 that month and I just thought that with everything that is going on, I’m not sure if I’ll even get to go.
I got accepted for the scholarship in studying abroad in shanghai China! Any advice? *i already accepted the scholarship* also do they provide a visa or do you have to pay for the visa?
first of all, congratulations!! that’s exciting - i am pretty sure you have to pay for the visa.. i remember having to take care of those sorts of documents but i would double check on their website to make sure!

@@Skylarrfayee yeah that makes a lot of sense! I would do whatever feels better for you - hopefully you will be able to travel to the other country that you choose in another occasion. i think the summer before your senior year is one of the most pivotal ones for college applications. if you are planning having this study abroad “frame” your application as a student, then go for it then. if this is serves as more of a “secondary experience” then do it during your senior year.
