Thank you!!! I lost my pen down in the depths of the couch cushions and it was found 8 months later when my son went couch spelunking. The ink was a sludgey mess inside and I had to take it apart to clean. And then I couldn’t remember how to put it back together. Your video was exactly what I needed!
I took my twsbi apart a few months ago for maintenance and when I tried to put it together again it left a giant gap between the top and the body. I took it to a fountain pen shop and not a single person there could fix it and your video saved the day! Thank you so much!!
So glad I found this video, best at explaining how to reassemble TWSBI eco , don't even want to think about my 580 AL. Will just look at them and consider if I want to ink them
You know, that REALLY helped me. I first went to TWSBI's site and they had a nice video with no voice instruction. Just music. I couldn't get it back together. Arghhhh!! They left out critical information. But you filled in all the gaps with your excellent voice instruction and accent. THANKS!!!!
Thank you very much for this video. The piston was badly stuck in my pen. Once I freed the piston, your video helped me put back all the parts properly.
Just saw this video! I was under the impression my TWSBI Eco Jade, the feed section was not removable! But if it is - this is a game changer for me. 😀. Thanks so much for your video! UDPATE - I used an ink that apparently had mold. I could get it cleaned just removing the nib section. This video saved the pen! I was able to take it apart and thoroughly clean each section and let it dry, then reassemble! Thank you sir!!!!!
Thank you Sir. I am a disassembl-er too, but could not get the plunger and cap align without a gap. The piston rod, I thought was a extra piece...UNTIL i saw your video. I am now enjoying my TWSBI EcoT. Thank you Brother.
it's been a while since I watched your videos last time. pen reviews can get old, but the instructional videos are very valuable, especially for newbies. Thank you for your continued support to the community. :)
Pure GOLD Stephen! My Twsbi is getting a bit tough to fill and needs to be greased. After seeing this I'm not afraid to do it now. Thank you a million times over for this vid!
This video helped me out a lot. I've had my pen for over 3 years now, never oiled it, never nothing but fill her up. Last time I went to refill it all started to come undone. I fix it all with your video!
Thank you so much! I got given my second TWSBI for christmas and couldnt figure out how to put it back together after taking it apart and almost broke it...this video helped me save it!
Thank you Mr Haggis. I had of course immediately dissembled my pen with the little wrench, and and *no idea* how to get the bloody thing back together. All makes sense now.
Thanks for the useful video. I disassembled my Eco and made a bit of a dog's brunch putting it back together again. Your tip about the third thread saved the day.
Just wanted to thank you for the thorough explanation of the TWSBI Eco pen. All is clear now. Very entertaining too....and you didn't even charge. Seriously, it was a great explanation, and fun how you accomplished the objective of explaining the pen.
Thank you Stephen!!! I was waiting for months to watch a video like this on youtube and I finally asked you to make one in the comments section of the review video. A week or so later you upload this guide. I could not thank you enough!!!
Thank you so much for this, this helped me figure out how to remove the gap between the end cap and the pen body, when screwing back all parts together :)
Good God, man! I can't thank you enough! I just lost a good portion of my morning (and nearly missed a deadline) trying to reassemble my TWSBI! You fixed me right up! Thank you SO MUCH! Can't wait to ink this puppy up and get to writing!
Thank you, Stephen. I mean Hamish. I've missed your reviews. Glad you're back. Now, treat yourself and your bonnie lass to a wee dram of Laphroaig (or any brew of tha choice even if it's merely Tea) and lift your glass to fountain pen users everywhere - just as we are toasting you! Slàinte mhòr agad!
I didn't grease the large part at the end of the plunger of my Twsbi Eco, and it became separated from the rod and is now stuck in the pen shaft near the feed. Is there a way to get it out, or is that the death of my pen?
Thanks, Stephen/Hamish! I've just finished the first lot of ink in my Eco and have come to the cleaning part. This is exactly what I needed. :) #scotswahey
Neeps... Means potatoes I think or maybe parsnips... Try looking up.. Dr Finleys case book... On you tube there's about 6 episodes of the original and the accents classic and the attitudes towards folks back them... Gordon Bennett really straight to the point
The end part of the piston got stuck in the barrel while I tried taking it out, now the tiny end part inside the barrel and the rest of the piston is out. Please help me!
Thank you! I've got black ink in my Eco and want to use a different coloured ink, so I was wondering how I could flush out the barrel. Now I know! Thanks again
lol so I managed to completely disassemble the pen for the first time, I never bothered with it but I wanted to clean it completely this time. And the end cap kept unscrewing when I tried to put together the pen. Needless to say I freak out a little. X;D
I took the nib and the feeder out couple of times and cleaned them, then changed the ink from bulletproof to quink. So far the leaking stopped, ill check out tomorrow. However the lines are much more wider than a regular EF should.
Never mind, Disaster! I'm not entirely sure what happened. I'm wondering if I didn't put the nib and feed in correctly although they seemed to have been. There was a lot of ink inside the cap as if it had been leaking out of the nib area. That's the only thing I can come up with, it was a fair amount of ink. Also the plastic bit inside the cap has popped out; I did rinse out the cap as well when I cleaned the pen, not sure if I should have done that but it seemed like a harmless thing to do. Oh boy, suppose I can just give it another go. Haha, live and learn.
Me at 12:50 today "Oh, I can skip the bit with the plunger, there's no way I'm ever taking that back bit apart." Me at 12:54 today "All nice and clean, let's put it back together, I wonder if the plunger can move when the back knob isn't screwed in yet?" Me at 12:55 today: "shit shit shit it came apart inside the pen! What do I do now!?" O.O Me at 13:00 today "Thank g*d he made that part with the little plunger bit! I'm never taking that pen apart again!" Me probably in two weeks: "I think I should clean all my TWSBI pens. Where's that video I saved?"
I've just come across this video and while watching it, I have not been able to stop smiling at your "newly acquired accent". Lol lol lol... aren't Scottish people fantastic?
I'm embarrassed at how many times I've had to come back and watch this. Thank you, Dr. Brown.

Thank you so much! My plunger got stuck and I took my entire pen apart and couldn't get it back together. Your video is what got me all fixed up!

Thank you Hamish! Your instructions are much easier to follow than the diagram in the box.
Disassembled my ECO to clean it better and found myself stuck. I got it all put together again because of this video. Thanks Stephen!

Sometimes it is just simple things that make your day ;-)
Marios Pantouvanos same
Thank you so much for this, this helped me figure out how to remove the gap between the end cap and the pen body, when screwing back all parts together :)
This both helped and entertained the hell out of me. Thank you!
Beautifully simple and to the point. Thank you!
Greatly appreciated! I disassembled my Eco like a knob and came here for help, which I found aplenty.
Thanks for this tutorial bro, super helpful! Cheers from Costa Rica.

The end part of the piston got stuck in the barrel while I tried taking it out, now the tiny end part inside the barrel and the rest of the piston is out.
Please help me!
You can sometimes pull it out with the piston rod
sbrebrown But the piston rod out of the barrel and I tried reinstalling the piston and taking it out but didn't work. I am so worried!
Anyone know how to remove a stuck piston head from the barrel? The round small peace got stuck and I cannot get it out. Please help.
Thank you! Very helpful.
Thank you so much!!!

Thank you! I've got black ink in my Eco and want to use a different coloured ink, so I was wondering how I could flush out the barrel. Now I know! Thanks again

I tried pulling out the nib and broke the little gills on the feeder.
Hamish its been wee while ma man
lol so I managed to completely disassemble the pen for the first time, I never bothered with it but I wanted to clean it completely this time. And the end cap kept unscrewing when I tried to put together the pen. Needless to say I freak out a little. X;D

Can I use different nibs on this pen like maru nibs on TWSBI pen????
If they are #5 Bock nibs, then yes
THANK YOU SO MUCH I THOUGHT I BBROKE IT
Finally! Love it!
How is the scratch resistant power of this pen?
Suman Nildeep Nath I've found it to be pretty scratch resistant.
Thanks, Stephen. I am going to buy this very soon. It's a bit expensive here in India though.
Thank you for great video.
Can i replace nib from sailor pen to the twsbi eco? I love the eco design and want a sailor nib on it.
many thank.
No, I don't think that will fit.
would you have any tips for a twsbi eco leaking from the nib?
I took the nib and the feeder out couple of times and cleaned them, then changed the ink from bulletproof to quink. So far the leaking stopped, ill check out tomorrow. However the lines are much more wider than a regular EF should.

That end cap made we want to rip my hair out
Don't pull the feed/nib this harshly! It might crack the barrel or bend the fins
