    Enjoyed that very much the hills are now looking better with some more foliage and static grass.

      Thanks for your feedback, greatly appreciated. My method of scenic progress is a bit different in that I'll work up an overall base and then at a later point (sometimes months later) I'll come back to work up the finer scenic details.

      Thank you Nick, it's definitely starting to take shape, albeit in one focused area.

    Fantastic 👏 looks really realistic 👌 The lattice support is spot on as they did have support across roads.

      Thank you for your kind feedback. Yes, I thought the pipe alone across the road seemed a bit odd. I saw real photos of pipelines crossing rivers (couldn't find any crossing roads) and most had some form of support, particularly when the span was longer.

      Thank you Terry for your kind words. The viaduct area is really the first area where I've concentrated fully on landscape scenics to a more finished level.

    Really great to see it almost finished, I use the Ados spirit based spray to most of my foliage and have no problems, because I make all my own products, that is scatter and coloured sponge, except I use lichen from the bush once it's dried out, your scene is very convincing, thankyou and keep well

    • @StationRoadModelRailway
      @StationRoadModelRailway  4 года назад

      Hi Jed and thank you for sharing your methods, I'm in agreement with the Ados spray glue for adding the foliage after the base ground cover has been applied, whether that be on top of static grass or standard ground scatter materials. In terms of clump foliage, I use dabs of PVA or maybe even hot glue.

      Thank you for the positive feedback. There's still some weathering to do around the pipeline but it is taking shape.

    Coming along good! About 4 or 5 years ago CRC had a problem with a few batches of Ados spray adhesive (not water based) and the CRC rep Peter replaced all of the stock where I worked with new product, so it might be worth talking to your supplier if you still have problems at warmer temperatures . Cheers Alan.

      Hi Alan, thanks for the CRC info, I'll look into that. I bought the spray adhesive from Mitre10.

    nice one Julian, you've nailed it, looks very effective, the whole scene with the foliage looks amazing, plenty scenic interest for adding people etc. thanks for sharing.

      Thank you for your fantastic feedback, so greatly received. Yes, a few people are in order, and maybe some discarded items under the arches - old rusty bicycle, car tyres and general bits of rubbish scattered around.

      Thank you for your kind words. To be honest, I wasn't entirely sure how the scene would pan out as this was my first go at more comprehensive landscape scenics. Up until this point, everything was theory based from watching countless other videos of folk modelling scenic areas.

    Excellent results overall but one thought...........you don't usually see green under low arches as the plants don't get much rain.......just a thought.

    • @StationRoadModelRailway
      @StationRoadModelRailway  4 года назад +3

      Thanks for your feedback. Interestingly I've based the foliage and overgrowth under the arches on real life video footage. In gully/valley areas plant life seems to thrive, and in some cases entire trees and forests seems to grow up under arches almost hiding the viaduct. I imagine water run-off from the hills would provide support for plant life under arches... or at least that's my reasoning.

    Well done Julian, looking great, you are a wealth of knowledge for someone starting out in the model railway world like myself. It's good to see some else experimenting with different materials as you go. keep up the great work, ps..hows the storage shed you had delivered going?

    • @StationRoadModelRailway
      @StationRoadModelRailway  4 года назад

      Thank you kindly Ian. Of course the knowledge I've acquired has come from other modellers on RUclips and also a bit of left-field thinking. The storage shed is ready and waiting for me to migrate garage junk but the weather has be terrible here (constant rain) that I'm waiting for a clear spell to cart everything.
