- Cassie the robot, invented at the Oregon State University College of Engineering and produced by OSU spinout company Agility Robotics, has established a Guinness World Record for the fastest 100 meters by a bipedal robot.

To put this into perspective, Usain Bolt's time for the 100 meter is about 9½ seconds, the female record is about 10½ seconds, any my personal best is about 10 minutes. Give or take.
Absolutely incredible, creepy AF.
This is just the stuff they reveal, imagine what's being kept under wraps. Exciting and unsettling times we are in.

This is just the early stages. People 100-200 years from now will look at this video and see how bipedal robots looked in ancient times as they will have much advanced version of this.
Just like how we look at cars from 1940s.
200 years? lol. In the next 2-3 years with 5g speeds and advancement in AI, you can see robots breaking usain bolt's record. Just like chess.

Who are we kidding 100-200 years from now advanced robots will replace humans. Stephen Hawking's said in 100 years computer AI will over take humans.

@@edwardspencer9397 At University research level...A good mesure of reference is Vr from cv1 to quest pro in the last 10 years or boston dynamics robots. I think it's the pace which we gonna ride on for the next 20 to 50 years. Then the big converge will happens between synthethic and biologique tech.

100 Meter Dash: Drunk Guy Edition
At the end it looked like he mighta pulled a muscle which caused him to slow down considerably then start to limp. He'll need to rest before his next race. Strange gait though. Reminds me of that big bird thing down in Australia.

Why does it look like that it’s running backwards?
Check out ostriches. That type of leg design allows for running at top speed (nearly 40mph) for more than 30 minutes. For comparison, most other animals that size can only run at that speed for tens of seconds. That leg is why they’re so fast.
