very good video, i’m glad you showed several steps as we all have different problems. renaming the file folder worked for me, i think it’s because before uninstalling the game i deleted every mod in the mod folder as i wanted to restart fully and that might’ve messed up the files.

Uninstall steam, restart computer, reinstall steam. Worked for my friend who also had this issue.
Just exit steam and restart computer

Now, renaming also doesn't work, i had disk error in gta 5 updates, so i followed your steps but wasn't fruitful, but after some settings management, updates were successfully downloaded. Go to steam settings->library-> low bandwidth mode, turn it off and try to download. Hope it helps someone or the other.

@@easywayguidesi downloading pubg while this happens then i download again from the start and try to play even in training room my potato pc do his work perfectly and also my hotspot do his job excellently and then after few minutes i uninstalled the whole game and delete steam , great success 👍💀

It should start to download only update from the beginning!
It worked! After renaming "downloading" to something else, a new folder creates itself, then delete the old renamed folder (cause its 60GB lol)

Whenever I try to rename the download folder it keeps saying, “This action can’t be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program”. But I already closed steam completely

hey all of you who see these steps and they don't work for you, what happens is that if it works only in my case since I am an anxious maniac who wants everything quickly it obviously frustrates me, you just have to be patient, follow the steps and wait at least a half hour for the computer to finish recognizing the files, at least that worked for me

My steamapps folder does not contain the downloading folder in my C drive, I'm able to find the folder in my D drive, but it won't let me rename it due to a corrupt and unreadbale disk issue. Any thoughts?
