I stayed at this hotel on my senior trip back in 1975 when it was the Pacific Beach and only 6 years old. I got a chance to visit around 2002 and had dinner at the Oceanarium. Great memories!
The Alohilani is at the top of my list for 3 to 5 days when we come for the month of December. It's in my top 3 or 4 along with the Royal Hawaiian, Trump and Moana Surf Rider. We would like to spend more days at one of these amazing hotels but they are a little out of our league. When the Alohilani was called the Pacific Beach I have video of that aquarium with mermaids feeding the fish which they did once a week. If I can get a special rate I would love their Diamond Head view room. Oh well, I can dream, can't I? Aloha.
Did you go yet? I think they are all nice, but I think Royal Hawaiian is probably in a different league than the others you mentioned (I haven't stayed there, just walked through it). I usually stay at Hilton Hawaiian Village.
@@Michael-jv7uq Missed last Dec. with travel restrictions. Hoping for this Dec. but prices are quite a bit higher. Let me check my lottery tickets. (NO lottery in Hawaii. Boo!)
You are both excellent narrators . TY so much ! #Q : could you pls do a video about decent budget hotels in MID Waikiki ? I.e : Ohana East , Aqua Oasis , Hi Imperial Resort , etc … I read a few reviews on the Ohana East where guests had their belongings stolen , so not good , although very well located . Safe and reliable is a must…🙏❤️
Aloha, Ana! Unfortunately, we can not guarantee reliability of the hotel. We personally stayed at Renew hotel when we first came to Oahu years ago. We had a great experience.
With the new restrictions on restaurants could you do a video of what it’s like now to try to get a seat or go out to eat. Because we plan on eating out every meal while we’re down there and it will really suck to have to wait hours every time we want to eat
I'd love to see a walk thru of the Queen Kapiolani Hotel. It was renovated a few years ago and I would like to see the changes I stayed there while they were renovating so facilities were not open but really liked the location and value.
Thanks for your walk for but made me sad as we were going here last August but Covid hit the world, we hope to get back there one day such a wonderful city.
Hello guys! Can't wait to see the tour of this hotel. I have a trip planned for Hawaii next week, do you think it's safe to travel there at this time with the rise of the COVID related cases? Would you guys please do a Travel Update video? Thank you

Beautiful and breathtaking resort, but what amenities set it apart from others nearby? Im looking at this resort in comparison to the Outrigger Waikiki and Hyatt Waikiki. Thanks!
Hi I'm looking to stay here in June but I see some negative reviews about cleanliness and problems with the bathrooms. What was your overall experience like?
It was clean, smelled and looked clean. It was ok, over rated and over priced. Nice hotel but they charge you like $45 a night for resort fee, $10 a night for microwave rental and the also charge you for parking. Pool area and marine tank is the highlight of the hotel. Great location overall. Stayed for 10 days and besides the fees stay was great.
@@31160408 Not at all. I don't have much negative to say about it in all honesty. I've stayed three 3 times and will be going again next month. I didn't find it dirty at all.

Thank you for posting this video, my family will be here Thanksgiving week of this year. We are so very much looking forward to it. Can you recommend best Teppenyaki and Seafood restaurants within walking distance of this hotel?
Aloha, glad you found it useful! Unfortunately, we are not into Teppenyaki. I can not recall a seafood restaurant specifically but most restaurants offer it. we LOVE Vintage island bar for their poke, salmon, and fish burgers! Hula grill has fantastic fish special for dinner!
Is this the property that used to be the Pacific Beach Hotel?! Used to have a big aquarium in the restaurant area. You could watch divers while eating? Stayed there twice when it was Pacific Beach Hotel. Been wanting to see the difference since the renovation! Love this property!! Did they keep the aquarium? I’ll find out tomorrow! Woohoo! 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
yeah, the restaurant used to be called the 'Oceanarium' ... big with us local people...you could put in a request if you had a special occasion so that the divers will hold a sign behind the glass to say happy birthday, or wedding anniversary to the people while the celebrated individuals were dining there ! Next to it was another restaurant that still featured the water tank, but it was a more costly restaurant...'think' it was called the 'Neptune'.
@@samjones2439 should have kept at least one...that being the Oceanarium ... but guess the new owners did not want old things and wanted a complete renovation with more open walk space.... the check in reservation section looks sooo unusual... unlike other traditional check in stations....
#Q : … Cont budget hotels in mid Waikiki request - grateful if you could add info relevant to seniors , such as senior rates , senior discounts available , etc …TY so much ! 💐
Thanks for your reply , you’re so sweet ! I’ve seen in the “ La Croix “ web page some time ago , that there was a rate for seniors ( or seniors discount ) , if you book directly with them , which came out to be under 150 , that is why I was asking about this … thanks for you suggestion , I’ll take a look to the Renew ❤️
By the way , just in case someone might be interested , the La Croix has a deal ( for 48 hrs ) for 155 at Booking , including resort fee , which is important and a nuisance !
Thank you for this video, went here on my honeymoon 28 years ago and had breakfast by the aquarium. Nice renovations.
Awesome!
I’ll be staying at this resort in 3 weeks, this video has helped me a lot. Thank you so much
