The Indiana University of PA Marching Band has been doing this tune for over 40 years at their post game shows. They do such a powerful rendition of the hymn that audiences are moved to tears. To celebrate the band's 100th Anniversary a documentary titled Sustaining Grace was created about the tune. I am sure you will find it quite moving.

I always stayed after the games to hear the Band play. Some nights they would play Aerosmith and other popular songs. It was awesome. The remaining few people all sitting around the big empty stadium listening to some of the most beautiful music, ever. To Carolina, forever to thee. Thank you.

I remember years ago the band would circle up and play in the fairgrounds before the game. You could actually get in the circle inside of them. It was AWESOME

Have been a soloist myself in high school, in a setting where you're not being focused on, you do it to have the "You've got this!" Aesthetic.
