The m16 is a direct impingment action (gas directly block back on the bolt). There is a buffer tube that goes through the stock to reduce recoil and absorb the blow back of the action. That stock would not work on an m-16 unless its a variant like the HK 416 that uses a short stock piston system similar to an AK. That system uses exhaust gases to use a piston to move the bolt back after firing and dooes nor require the buffer tube.

I might get Grunt since I got Stalker. I'll likely limit myself to the original 12 and Night Force. Breaker came with the Ram cycle which I never got and Rock n Roll was just released. I got the Viper 3 pack on Prime Day. A couple of them seemed to have really tight joints in the arms, but tge weapons were fine.

Just got mine. He was my favorite Joe as a kid. Removed those ridiculous thigh pouches because they don't serve a purpose. When they release the retro version, I think he'll come with the straps and not the vest.
The helmet actually fits Rock’n Roll… I decided to try it and yes it works.. he kinda has a short neck syndrome but I think for a big guy like him it doesn’t look bad at all, almost Like a Dave Batista with.a helmet look to him.. ofc you could say well he’s wearing a shirt… what sense does it make for him to wear a helmet… I guess true but still, looks cool.. pondering now if once those release… if one could take their shoulder armor and what not and throw it on R&R…I also did a head swap with Dusty and he looks great, if you manage to pick up a few of these and dusty, could easily swap parts and make a desert style grunt and or a green guy dusty or just another foot soldier for the team, definitely one of the best figures imo…top 10 figures of the year to me.. he’s definitely on the list …
The M16 is also an A2 with a Fixed Carry Handle that has been discontinued for almost 15 years now and now all M16-A3 with a Flat Top and that is a Vietnam era type Scope instead of a Trijicon ACOG which would be the Correct type of Scope for that weapon now days. The Stock should be Fixed and NOT an AK like Logan has already stated. This is one of the Things that the People at Hasbro should either go online and look at what the Military is currently Using or Hire some Military Technical Advisers to help them get the correct weapons with the right figures like they used to do back when the like started in 1982-90.
He’s NOT an army builder he’s a individual character with a name NOT a nameless faceless trooper…..of course Hasbro is going to encourage troop building so people buy 6 figures instead of just one but copper head and grunt are technically not troop builders and were written and created as a individual character not a nameless faceless trooper like a viper,crimson guard,cobra troopers etc
I don't think people realize his name is on his chest, so it's hard to have him as a army builder with them all being "Graves." If that harness can come off I'm instantly doing more of him as an army builder.
@@Apunkwithtoys That is a solution but for me, it would bother me that there isn't a better option to have it work other than to paint it. I'd just have guys with a blank nameplate while "Graves" leads the bunch? I'll probably change my mind whenever I get Grunt though and still get more.

When every I watch your reviews, I always start with the weapons to see if they are soft. I can’t believe we are paying $25 for these figures with soft as toilet paper guns. C’mon Hasbro, get it together and figure out the plastics for these weapons. I shouldn’t have to replace weapons bc they are soft. AND GIVE US ACCESSORY PACKS! I would buy a pack of those laser rifles and a pack of the stands that come with the retro figures.

Even the gi joe team that design the figures and accessories don’t want these weapons bent. It’s a QC issue that needs to get resolved at the production end. If they don’t see these valid complaints they got no evidence to show to their superiors this needs to get resolved.

Some of the earlier figures had some tight joints, but not too bad. If something feels tight warm it up in water or using a blow dryer.

I think if you took the shoulder harneres that comes with action force trigger or srgt slaughter you could recreate the old grunt somewhat nicely.
