I think it's a cool concept but they should have made it a little bigger in the battery department so it could drive more power. Wired headphones are not optimized for lower power most of the time.

Quick tip: Instead of spending $99 on this, spend $16.99 on the Mpow Streambot Mini Bluetooth 4.0 Receiver which supports Bluetooth 4.0 and will provide wonderful sound. It's a little bigger but that actually allows it to support more features like volume up/down and pause/play.

I got my Sony headphones for $25. I got my main phone for $25 (Moto g 1). I got a second phone for $10 (lg lucky). I have an app that lets me control my music phone through Bluetooth from my main phone. it works perfectly fine. total cost: $60.
I don't think this should cost $100 (you can buy wireless headphones for the same price).

although wireless does eliminate the hassle of wires, with $100 I can buy myself a decent dac/amp (ex. Fiio Q1) and get better audio.

This product makes a lot of sense in a context where slightly upgrading headphones to become wireless would result in the manufacturer raising the cost significantly. For instance, really expensive monitor headphones or balanced listening headphones.

I combined a tiny wearable headphone amp and a Bluetooth receiver dongle plugged into some Hesh 2 headphones. It cost me about 120 and sounds great, its about three years old now, still rocking the cubicle.
Don't you need a battery in those headphones? If they are wired I don't think they have a battery inside.

100 dollars, i bet they produce this for like 1 euro or 50 cents
$5 is my guess the production cost because $1 for NFC & $0.5 for 3.5mm Jack, $2 for the battery and if there's a mic then $1 for that as well + $0.5 body. Technology is cheap, they are charging way lot for this $10-$30 piece.

I found at Walmart something like this called HYPE Headphone Bluetooth Adapter for 8 or 9 dlls and it works like a charm. The thing is, it is a female connector or whatever its called but it has a clip tho, so you'd still be having a wire but that audio wire is not connected to your phone. It's less convenient but no static noise at all and remember, it's just 8 or 9 bucks.

+Shakib -_- Most high end headphones use 2.5mm jacks, the ATH M50x, alot of SHURE headphones, Senheiser you name it (I think beats dont use 2.5 though), they use it.
+Shakib -_- a lot of ATH and Sennheiser cables I have use a 2.5 to connect to the headphones, but not the device. Actually, I think a lot of them do. The device in the video uses a 2.5 plug.

You should do a review about the Bluedio I4 Bluetooth Stereo Headset. It is a great little device. It is cheap and it works for all kind of stuff. I use it daily as a bluetooth converter for my headset. It would be great for ''does it suck''. It's great for helmets, cyclist and motorcyclist. It works for calls and music.

I have an Aukey Bluetooth 3.0 battery-powered dongle that I used cable management and a cheap aux cable with to turn my headphones into bluetooth ones with a microphone for $15. It pops on when it gets a signal (hurts my ears because it goes into power save mode after ~30 seconds without audio), but for $15, I can't complain.
I'll pick one up for my headphone project. Great vid!

I think the only thing that this thing lacks is another "transmitter" unit to work with devices that do not support bluetooth, nfc... etc.
So, I guess, the sequence would be: Audio output (that doesn't support wireless)--> "transmitter" unit --(bluetooth)--> the unit in the video --> your choice of wired headphones...
