I did this 2 years ago but with concrete screws. Works awesome. But predrill small holes from the top of the tire to guide the screws, and use countersinking screws so they are flush with the inside tire saves wear and tears on the tubes and protective tube liner. In Canada we call those screws. Self tapping screws or sheet metal screws.
