glad you picked up on the "take 2 " bit, but yes still amazing acheivement, and would love to hear some Snarky Puppy reactions from you, though you've likely already -heard them all so maybe not first time reactions. Are you familiar with Dirty Loops (Henrik Linder on bass) ?

Oh my godddddd miffffff!!! Welcome! And yes! Henrik is currently one of my favourite bass players! The fill in "Rock you" is INCREDIBLE. I'm glad you're here, you have great taste in technical music

I hate that too that they didn’t give him a drum less track… by giving him this with drums included means he is obviously just trying to copy it, which isn’t bad per se, just I’d have loved to see his take without hearing the drums.
But yeah great reaction as always! Wanted to see if you have ever heard of Manchester Orchestra and their song The Silence? It’s an absolute masterpiece vocally, sonically, and in every other way! Can’t recommend them enough.
Their drummer has a video of him playing to their song The Wolf and it is captivating. Minimalistic yet powerful.

Oddly a guy I used to work with was an M.O SUPERFAN so have gracefully heard them before! Not many people even mention them so I'm glad you did! As for this video, I totally agree, larnell is incredible at mimicking a player so I'd love to hear him do a drumless session

Most metal drummers use several sets or sticks per show because they break them. At least the drummers I've played with do! This guy plays jazz so his sticks seem to last.

Every metal band I've ever been in the drummer has ALWAYS got multiple sticks 😂

I usually hate these "listen once, then play alone" things, because they always suck. But in this case...
yeah... it also sucks. First there is the problem that Enter Sandman is a classic and if you know it then everything that is played differently just sounds bad. This is why making a good cover is so freaking hard.
Second: there are no drummers that can just play a good track after hearing the song only once. What you are thinking about is a good drummer skilfully playing his drums while listening to a song. If the drummer is well known reactors will tend to simple assert that what he plays is good because... well because it's a famous drummer, fullstop.
Notice the reactions here; they are about how effortlessly this guy plays his drums, not how good what he plays fits the song... because it doesn't. Enter Sandman is classic Metallica: it only changes tempo... well never, it's a constant rhythm, it gets it's strength from NOT adding fills and double-taps and all the stuff that this drummer is adding to show off his skills. THe song is about nightmares, you don't add funk to a nightmare.
The quality of the cover is dictated by the fame of the player, and that's bullsh*t.

I appreciate your input Vinny. Noted on your how you feel, glad you enjoyed my reaction at least. Cheers for watching.
Edit. Come to think of it, you also don't understand a cover/interpretation, I've never seen someone so upset over a cover 😂 chill the fuck out man you'll live longer, you're also not doing much for the stigma of how elitist Metallica fans are
